In Reasi – Better late than never!
- The people of the locality saying in video that many complaints were lying in the office of ZEO Chassana than why not action has been taken on the part of ZEO.
- The CEO Reasi too came in action when the video went viral but till than no action as the teacher was doing such action for last couple of years.
- Â Two videos related to schools have been forwarded to Principal Secretary and Director School Education Department the action on one video has been taken and on other video action is still awaited.

Reasi, Nov 17: The School Education Department has suspended a teacher immediately, in Reasi district, who was found unconscious in an intoxicated state in the premises of school, when a video went viral depicting him in insentient condition.
The teacher Grade-III Dalair Singh posted in Primary School Dharidhar, Zone Chassana, District Reasi has found in intoxicated condition and was deeply sleeping with his mouth in upward direction while sitting in a chair in the verandah of the school building. As per the viral video, the said school has two teachers Dalair Singh and Ruksana, whereas Ruksana joined today as she was on long leave. The inebriated teacher has kept a bed inside the school for sleeping during day time and today the people evacuated the classroom.
As per the viral video, the said teachers is working in the school for couple of years and people have made many complaints against him (teacher) to the concerned Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Chassana but the ZEO Chassana has not taken any action against the offender teacher, reasons better known to him. The Administrative Department of School Education Department must order an enquiry against the ZEO Chassana to ascertain the reasons that why he/she had not seriously considered the complaints made by the people against Dalair Singh.
The video depicting the condition of Dalair Singh was forwarded to Principal Secretary School Education, Alok Kumar IRS and Director School Education Department, Jammu Ashok Sharma KAS on their respective WhatsApp numbers for immediate action against the erring teacher. The vigilant Director School Education, Jammu Ashok Sharma has replied within ten minutes with the suspension orders and told that action has been taken.
The Chief Education Officer, Reasi issued the suspension order after watching the viral video vide her office No. CEO/Rsi/ESSH/20482-85 dated 17-11-2023, the order read as – “Pending enquiry into his conduct, Mr Dalair Singh Teacher Grade – III, PS Dharidhar, Zone Chassana, District Reasi is placed under suspension with immediate effect in connection with a viral video, further official is directed to report to Worthy deputy Commissioner’s Officer Reasi for further duties with immediate effect. Charge-sheet will be issued separately.”
The episode of teacher Dalair Singh clearly signifies that the supervisory staff of School Education Department has failed to check the schools and performance of the teachers. In this case, the ZEO Chassana was immediate supervising officer but he/she has not accomplished his/her duties. The administration must enquire the last visit of ZEO Chassana to the PS Dharidhar and what action has been taken then. There is also laxity on the part of CEO Reasi and failed to check such teachers as the people of the locality expressed concern over the issue already.
It is commonly noticed that CEOs and ZEOs are sitting in their respective offices and hardly bother to pay visit to the schools especially in those schools which are falling in far-flung areas. The Principal Secretary School Education Department must issue an order that ZEOs and CEOs will mandatory pay three visits in a week to check the schools so that the department may get feedback. Merely sitting in offices will not help the department but only provide comfort to the officers.
