JK Lieutenant Governor flags off state of the art Vistadome AC train at Banihal

Srinagar, Oct 19: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the state of the art all-weather glass-ceiling AC train—Vistadome at Banihal on Thursday.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Member Parliament Farooq Abdullah was also present during the inauguration function.

The train, manufactured by Indian Railways, is designed to enhance the travel experience for passengers, both locals and tourists.
The Vistadome boasts a single 40-seat AC coach with features like large glass windows, LED lights, rotatable seats, and an inbuilt GPS-based information system. Passengers will enjoy breath-taking views through the glass roof as they traverse the picturesque Kashmir Valley.
Sinha said the specially designed Vistadome coach between Budgam and Banihal, is equipped with wide windows, revolving chairs and glass rooftop, offering the passengers a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.
The Vistadome services will have a profound impact on tourism and contribute to the economic growth and cultural enrichment of the region, he said and added Vistadome is a symbol that facilities available in developed countries are now accessible to people of J&K.
The train will chug from Budgam to Baramulla, an official said, adding that the Vistadome coach is set to operate on the scenic railway track from Budgam to Banihal while key stops along the journey will include Budgam, Srinagar, Awantipora, Anantnag, Qazigund, and Banihal.
The coaches also come equipped with automatic sliding doors and safety features such as CCTV cameras, he said, adding that the introduction of this glass-ceiling train aims to promote tourism in the Kashmir valley.
It will provide travelers with a unique and comfortable way to experience the region’s beauty, from snow-covered mountains in winter to vibrant saffron fields in summer and golden Chinar leaves in autumn, officials said. UNI
