Amit Shah chairs security review meeting in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 23: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday chaired a security review meeting in Srinagar, officials said.
They said the meeting, also attended by J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and top security and intelligence officials, discussed in detail the security situation in J&K with a special focus on the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.
Sources said Shah took a detailed review of the preparations made for the smooth conduct of the upcoming Amarnath pilgrimage.
The 62-day pilgrimage, which begins on 1 July, is expected to see an increase in visitors from last year’s 3.45 lakh to 5 lakh.
Shah arrived on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Earlier the day, four unidentified infiltrators were killed along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
