• LG assured that those involved will be booked, even if they hide in fortress in case of Sub Inspector, JE, FAA recruitment process.
• It has surfaced during investigation that Haryana-based gang involved in scam; Candidates paid Rs 20-30 lakh for getting question papers before examination
• Incriminating documents and digital evidences have been recovered during searches so far and these will open all the secrets.
• The premises of then chairman SSB, Khalid Jahangir and then controller of examination, SSB Ashok Kumar were also searched as part of an ongoing investigation in the scam.
• First time the CBI conducted searches on August 5 at 30 locations including at Jammu, Srinagar, and Bengaluru and it is second time.
•  CBI raided the residence of one DSP and police constable in this concern too, whereas more raids are expected in near future on more officers who are still on escaping mode.

Jammu, Sep 13: Taking to its conclusion, the Central Bureau of Investigation has raided 36 places as the part of investigation in irregularities wreaked in the written tests of SI JKP, FAA and JE Civil Engineers, whereas they have got many startling information and strengthening that the misdeeds have been done.
It has conducted searches around 36 locations including at Jammu, Srinagar in J&K; Karnal; Mahendergarh; Rewari in Haryana; Gandhidham in Gujarat; Delhi; Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh & Bangalore in Karnataka at the premises of former Chairman, JKSSB; then Controller of Examination of JKSSB; Gang members domiciled in Haryana; certain teachers; some serving/retired officials of J&K Police including a DSP and CRPF in an on-going investigation of a case related to Sub Inspector Recruitment Scam of J&K. Incriminating documents and digital evidences have so far been recovered during searches.
It is pertinent to mention that the CBI had registered a case on 03.08.2022 on the request of J&K Government against 33 accused including then Medical Officer, BSF Frontier Hqrs, Paloura; then Member, JKSSB; then Under Secretary, then Section Officer (both of JKSSB); Ex Official of CRPF; ASI of J&K Police; Owner of a coaching centre, Akhnoor; private company based at Bengaluru; private persons and unknown others on the allegations of irregularities in written examination for the posts of Sub-Inspectors in the J&K Police conducted by J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) on 27.03.2022. The results were declared on 04.06.2022. There were allegations regarding malpractices in the examination. The J&K Govt had constituted an Inquiry Committee to look into the same. It was alleged that the accused entered into a conspiracy amongst officials of JKSSB, Bengaluru based private company, beneficiary candidates & others, and caused gross irregularities in the conduct of written examination for the posts of Sub-Inspectors. It was further alleged that there was abnormally high percentage of selected candidates from Jammu, Rajouri & Samba districts. Violation of rules by JKSSB was allegedly found in assigning the task of setting question paper to Bengaluru based private company.
Whereas, searches were earlier conducted on 05.08.2022 at 30 locations including at Jammu, Srinagar, Bengaluru etc. at the premises of accused.
Investigation has revealed the alleged payment of Rs.20 to 30 lakh (approx) by willing candidates and their families to the accused for accessing the question paper before commencement of the examination. In this regard, involvement of a gang domiciled in Haryana, certain teachers of J&K, some serving/retired personnel of CRPF, J&K Police and JKSSB has allegedly come to light.
Investigation is continuing.
On March 27, 2022, the SSB conducted written test for SI posts of J&K Police. Subsequently, the results were declared on June 4, 2022. After candidates levelled allegations of malpractices in the examination, the J&K Government had constituted an inquiry committee to look into the same. On August 3, the CBI registered a case against 33 accused including then medical officer, BSF Frontier Headquarters, Paloura; then Member, JKSSB; then under Secretary, JKSSB; then Section, JKSSB; ex-official of CRPF; ASI of J&K Police; owner of a coaching centre, Akhnoor; private company based at Bengaluru; private persons and unknown others on the allegations of irregularities in written examination for the posts of sub-inspectors in the J&K Police.
Stating that the case regarding irregularities in Sub Inspector, Junior Engineer and Financial Account Assistant recruitment has already been given to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI); J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that those involved will be brought to book even if they hide in a fortress.
“Recently, reports of fake appointments surfaced about Police Sub-Inspector, Junior Engineer and Financial Account Assistant posts. We have already handed over the case to CBI for a thorough probe,” Sinah said while addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Hockey Astro Turf in Poonch district.
He added that those guilty and accused will be brought to book. “Even if the accused will be hiding in a fortress, we will bring them to justice,” Sinha said.
He said that over the past three years, the J&K administration provided jobs to 30,000 youth in a transparent manner.
