Srinagar, Jul 27: Abrogation of Article 370 and 35a has posed a challenge to the youth of Jammu & Kashmir to opt for a different and new political narrative, which can save their identity as the traditional and dynastical political parties have utterly failed, this was told by Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari.
Explaining to people about the post abrogation impact, the president Apni Party Altaf Bukhari said abrogation of Article 370 and 35a have challenged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to decide political narrative to ensure a better future.
Addressing a party convention at Pulwama in south Kashmir, Bukhari said abrogation of Article 370 and 35a have posed a challenge to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to take a firm decision whether they will continue pursuing unachievable goals or set a fresh political narrative and attainable goals to ensure a better future. He has mentioned clearly that post abrogation people have to choose for new political narrative and to shun the traditional political parties.
Mentioning about the situation of post abrogation of Article 370 and 35A on August 5, 2019, Bukhari said it has crumpled down the political narrative of regional political parties in J&K.
Launching a scathing attack on the traditional political parties and their leaders, he said that they had made us believe that they were protectors of these constitutional Articles, but on August 5, J&K people came to know that they had been misleading us all these years and decades.
He said, “Post-August 5, 2019, people of Jammu and Kashmir are facing the blunt question that whether they should continue pursuing the emotional political narratives of the traditional parties or set a renewed political narrative which will enable them to protect their political and economic rights in the changed scenario.”
Stressing on the need of having introspect, he asked people to introspect to understand the emotional politics and setting unattainable goals that have brought only miseries and deaths to them.
Bursting on the traditional and regional political parties, he said that for years and decades, the politics of traditional political parties remained dominant by the deceptive narratives around plebiscite, autonomy, self-rule, Azadi, and so on. We have seen thousands of our youngsters dying pursuing these unachievable goals. Now, we have to decide whether we let the killing spree continue or put a stop to it, for a better future.
Clarifying his opinion over the future miseries, he said, “I would say that we must protect our young generation from further misery and deaths, strive for a better future and attainable goals in a peaceful manner. As a society, we cannot afford to continue the deaths and destruction on this land for an endless time.”
Bukhari said political and economic rights can be attained in a peaceful manner and for this we can bring about a change for the better in a peaceful manner. He asked the people to give peace a chance, so that we can have new narrative of politics. He said the need of the hour is for a peaceful environment, as a society, we can build fresh political narratives and set attainable goals to achieve. Criticizing the regional and traditional political parties, he said that we should not follow the same goals and deceitful political narrative that has brought us nothing but tragedies and miseries only thus far.
Expressing his views about sustainable peace in the J&K, he said that Apni Party firmly believe that a sustained peace would pave the way for everything that should matter to people of J&K. He further said that it is the people of Jammu and Kashmir who absolutely need a peaceful atmosphere for moving ahead and added that peace would ensure prosperity and development of this land and it eventually would pave the way for political and economic empowerment to its people.
Rueing over the unfortunate killing of youth in past, he said our youth have been killed in past 32 years, and yet we have achieved nothing from this violence. He asked the people that can we afford to continue this bloodshed and the killing spree here.
Censuring the regional political parties, he said that the power-hungry political parties fought with each other to manage their presence in the power corridors, and now they have changed their ways and got united to regain power.
