Islamabad, Dec 18: (UNI) At least eight people were killed and eight injured when an over-speeding bus ran over a group of people in Pakistan’s central Punjab on Saturday.
Geo TV quoted the police as saying the incident took place in Mandi Bahauddin due to the driver’s negligence and because the dense fog made it difficult to see.
The police further said the victims were waiting for a vehicle to attend a Mehndi ceremony when the speeding bus ran over them.
While five people died on the spot, three succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
The driver is absconding and a case against him has been registered, the police added.
