Big fraud in MC Akhnoor!
- The knowledge and education is must so the people should be wise during casting their votes and always elect the educated and knowledgeable persons.

Jammu, Nov 05: Can an Executive Officer of any Municipal Committee call the meeting instantly that too on his own prerogative? How an Executive Officer flout the law of land in Akhnoor? What type of hidden agenda was having an Executive Officer of Akhnoor Municipal? Why not the Executive Officer of Akhnoor Municipal Committee placed under suspension for over ruling the law of land? Why not a CBI enquiry may be ordered to ascertain the fact for calling the meeting of Councillors in an illegal manner? What was the intention of the Executive Officer Akhnoor Municipal and whom he wanted to extend benefit? These are tough questions for the Executive Officer and Director Local & Urban Bodies as people want to know the secret of this scam. The Director Local & Urban Bodies must give a clarification over this scandal.
The issue in this legalized scandal is that EO has tried to flout the norms and law of land by calling special or ordinary meeting of wards members in absence of President and Vice President and without the requisition signed by not less than one half of total members of the municipality. EO has tried to highjack the entire system but some sane persons have saved the Municipal Committee of Akhnoor for going anti law. Now the million dollar question is this that why EO has done this blunder. Was it an urgent meeting for which the ward members were informed just 48 hours before the meeting where as rules says members should be informed 5days before and only in case of urgent meeting it may be called on a notice lesser than period of five days. Because in meeting notice issued no urgent meeting word have been used?
Approval of Building Bye Laws as circulated by Housing and Urban Development Department was the point number 3 of today’s agenda for the meeting. The intriguing part of the story is that instead of elected members to legislate the building law, the executive officers to execute but here executive body forcing elected members to approve the bye laws made by Housing and Urban Development Department that too without any knowledge. May be it is perhaps due to that EO knew that members are uneducated or greedy and he has taken them granted.
The law clearly says that EO on his own behalf cannot call meeting, which clearly speaks that EO has valued the councillors at low level so he has done this.
