Jammu, Nov 02: Why the health department is so callous about the people of Akhnoor? Why health department not taking the sufferings of people of Akhnoor seriously? Why people of Akhnoor are bereft off the basic treatment in Sub District Hospital, Akhnnor? Who will come forward to put the things on right track? Why Director Health Services Jammu is not taking interest in her department and only passing the time? Why Chief Medical officer, Jammu is sleeping over the issue? These are some uncomfortable questions for the Director of Health Services Jammu to reply but no one will reply as they do not have any reply for these questions.
The Sub District Hospital Akhnoor is in shamble and the patients approaching here for the treatment have to face many problems as far the basic facilities are concerned. The hapless people have to compromise with the sufferings but the health authorities seem to enjoy the scene of people sufferings.
The SDH Akhnoor is gripped with several problems as concerned of Doctors they often come late in the morning and most intriguing part of the story that they leave the hospital much earlier than the time to leave. These doctors can be easily located in top nursing homes of town where they pursue private practice in office hours.
During the night hours, only one doctor is available in Sub District Hospital and no specialist doctor bother to stay in hospital. To stay in the hospital during night hours is the part of their duties but they prefer to abandon the hospital. The emergency cases during night hours remained unattended and being referred to GMC Jammu for no reason. The absence of doctors from the hospital during night hours can be disastrous especially for accident cases. Even snake bite cases are being referred to GMC Jammu, which can be treated at Akhnoor.
Doctors openly asking the patients to come their private clinics and nursing homes for treatment, which is unethical and illegal. The dengue is on peak and number of patients in hospitals is increasing rapidly some patients reported us that even they have to buy drip sets from shops.
Patients also complained that agents of private labs are collecting samples in the hospital especially in gynae ward.
As reported by our sources Ultrasound Machine of SDH Akhnoor remained defunct for more than a week since 23rd October similarly x-ray machine whenever got some fault it takes weeks to get it rectified.
Prime Minister Jan Aushadi Kendra is mostly out of stock and is often found closed in peak dengue period also sanitation condition of SDH Akhnoor is deteriorating.
