Veteran singer Narendra Chanchal has passed away. He was 80.

In a shocking turn of events, popular devotional singer Narendra Chanchal passed away today. He was 80. The singer breathed his last in Delhi. He was well known for singing devotional songs and even had a successful run in Bollywood. In fact, for his very first stint in Bollywood with Rishi Kapoor starrer-Bobby, he received the acclaimed Filmfare Best Male Playback Award.

He was hospitalised in Delhi’s Apollo hospital and passed away there. Narendra Chanchal also penned his autobiography titled The Midnight Singer – Narinder Chanchal: The Extraordinary Journey of an Extraordinary Man in which he wrote about his journey and how he attained fame.
