In the month of September and October during 2021 several union ministers paid visits to union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. According to official reports about seventy ministers including MoS and Cabinet ministers were asked by the government to visit Jammu and Kashmir. It was propagated that these ministers were sent to JK-UT under the central sponsored programme of public outreach. It is now almost five months after that mass level tours of the ministers that the people of UT JK have achieved. Is there any answer to the question of the people that the visiting ministers have given to the people of this UT? People are large and also the local leaders have alleged that those visits were nothing but a big illusion. Even the leaders of ruling political parties including local and central leaders are unable to describe the outcome of those visits of the ministers. If asked about those visits of 2021, where crores of rupees of public money were utilized for the comfort and enjoyment of the visiting ministers, the leaders in response to this question have only one written dialogue or slogan “Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikaas”. But where is the Vikas on the ground in UT JK? There is nothing visible on the ground and neither the leaders of the ruling party are in a position to tell or identify those sectors except a few parks and gardens. So can the government tell the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who are already suffering from the load of unprecedented price rise, corruption, alienation from the administration non-redresser of basic issues, rise in the crime rate, rise in the unemployment and decline in employment opportunities, what was the motive behind sending the union ministers in such a big number to Jammu and Kashmir? Can anyone in the government and in the ruling party tell the exact amount expended on these fruitless visits and why? According to the opposition leaders the only motive behind these visits was to provide an opportunity to the ministers to enjoy the holidays and be relaxed. It is not an allegation according to them but as they say is true to the last end. They claim if it is not true then let the government explain the benefit as during the visits most of the ministers have not visited those places and projects for which it is claimed that they have been inaugurated by the ministers. This is also being alleged by the people that for the union government, Jammu and Kashmir is nothing but a resting place where one can come on the name of visit and enjoy life with family members.
