Bilaspur (HP), Oct 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated his commitment for development and fast development across the nation on the occasion of Vijyadashmi festival here on Wednesday.
He said that today had come as a day of victory for us as the district of Bilaspur had got the dual gifts of Education and health and that was remarkable.
The Prime Minister started his speech in local Bilaspuri dialect and said that he had got full blessings of Maan Naina Devi and local Deity Bajiya Baba (Baba Narsingh dev).
On this occasion, he gave Dussehra greetings to the people of Indian in general and HP in particular. He said that he would visit Kullu later in the evening and seek blessings of Lord Ram and Maan Hidamba for the people.
Modi was addressing a mammoth gathering at the Luhnu ground after dedicating projects worth 3,650 crore rupees to the people of the state. He said that the AIIMS at Bilaspur would be of different nature as it would be environment based and nature friendly.
While having a dig at the Congress party without naming them, he said that during the previous government, they used to lay the foundation stone and thereafter forget them, whereas, BJP used to lay foundation stones and sit only when they were dedicated to the people after their completion.
Earlier, people had to depend upon IGMC, Shimla and Tata Medical College for treatment or go to Chandigarh and New Delhi. But with the opening of eight new Medical colleges and AIIMS at Bilaspur, the people of the need not to go outside the state for medical treatments.
Modi said that presently Himachal is known for the bravery of its jawans but from a new one more thought would be added and that of saving the lives of the people through the Medical institutions like AIIMS, Bilaspur.
He said that the Ayushman Bharat Yojana had played a major role in saving the lives of the people across the nation and as many as 3.60 lakh crore people had benefited from the scheme at a cost of forty-five thousand crore rupees.
He said if this scheme was not in force, the people would have to spend about ninety thousand crore rupees from their pockets. But with the enforcement of this yojana under which one gets medical treatment up to five lakh rupees free of cost, the lives and money of the people have been saved.
In Himachal Pradesh about 1.50 lakh people had benefited from this scheme, Modi added.
The Prime Minister announced that more such schemes are in the pipeline for helping the poor and middle class people and those would become reality in the coming days.
He congratulated Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur and his team for fighting the Corona pandemic firmly and completing the 100 pc vaccination programme much ahead of other states thereby getting top spot in the country.
He said that it was possible due to the personal intervention and efforts of the Chief Minister for which he deserved appreciation.
Talking about the bulk medical drug farm in the state, he said that Himachal Pradesh is the one of three Indian states where this park would be set up. It would provide employment to lakhs of local people and thereby change their economic lot.
He also talked about the grant of One Rank, One pension to the brave jawans of India and said that this facility had helped the families of such people a lot. It was possible only due to the efforts of the double engine governments of the BJP. Earlier Congress party governments had done nothing in this respect and there was no use crying over spilt milk now for them.
The Prime Minister said that the Digital revolution had also played a major role worldwide but Himachal Pradesh had achieved a lot as per the latest reports.
PM said that with the four laning of roads and increasing road connectivity in the state, not only the economy of the state would grow but also people of outside states would enjoy the scenic beauty of this Hilly state, which was full of clean environment.
Modi appealed to the people to see the working of the double engine governments in state and the efforts of Jai Ram Thakur and his team to take the state to heights and bring the BJP back to power once again.
BJP national president JP Nadda said that today would be remembered as a historical day in the history of Bilaspur and Himachal Pradesh. He said that the visit of the Prime Minister had proved how much love and affection Modi Ji had for the people of Himachal.
In a choked voice, he said that Modi Ji had love and affection for all in the state and that was why, He (Nadda), a grass root party worker, was made its National president.
Speaking on occasion, HP Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur thanked the Prime Minister for paying a visit to Himachal Pradesh and said that this visit had proved that HP was a really second home of Modi Ji.
He said that from today AIIMS means Bilaspur and not New Delhi.
“Earlier, when we used to speak of AIIMS that means AIIMS, New Delhi. But from today, a change has come and credit for this change goes to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Thakur said that with the blessings of Modi Ji and people of India, the BJP would be able to make a change and would form its government in the state once again.
Earlier no party could win two successive elections in the state.
Union Information & Broadcasting Minister, Anurag Thakur said that Modi Ji was to be credited for giving new dimensions to the developmental activities in Himachal Pradesh along with other parts of India.
Thakur said that the people of state would not forget the contribution of the Prime Minister for the state during the corona crisis and would once again bring the BJP to power.
