Six ‘Khauf gang’ members arrested; three pistols, sharp weapons seized

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 7: In a major success against gangsterism, Jammu Police have arrested six alleged members of the ‘Khauf Gang’ in connection with a firing and death-threat incident in Arnia.
The accused were arrested within 72 hours of the incident by a team of Police Station Arnia. During the operation, police recovered three pistols, five tokas and six live rounds from their possession.
The case was cracked through meticulous investigation and analysis of CCTV footage from the crime scene and adjoining areas. Police tracked the suspects along their escape route and, with the help of local intelligence, identified and apprehended the accused.
The swift action by the Arnia Police team under the supervision of senior officers, including SP Headquarters Jammu, has been appreciated as a significant achievement in the ongoing drive against organised crime and gangster networks.
An FIR has been registered at Police Station Arnia under relevant provisions of law. Further investigation is underway to establish the weapon supply chain, criminal network and backward and forward linkages of the accused.
SP Headquarters Jammu, while appreciating the police team for the prompt action, urged parents to keep a close watch on youngsters and ensure they stay away from gangsterism and criminal activities. He called upon youth to focus on education, fitness, discipline and constructive pursuits.
Jammu Police have reiterated that the crackdown against gangsterism and organised criminal networks will continue, with strict legal action against those involved in criminal activities.
