Kulgam: In a powerful affirmation of Kashmir’s civilizational legacy and India’s timeless cultural traditions, the Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad (RPP), Jammu & Kashmir, organized a National Convention on “Kashmir Sanskriti, Kashyap Rishi Parampara, Protection of Sanatan Values and Youth Empowerment” at the revered Mata Tripurasundari Dham, Devsar, Kulgam.
The convention brought together an impressive gathering of eminent scholars, religious leaders, social activists, representatives of Kashmiri migrant organizations, youth leaders and devotees from different parts of Jammu & Kashmir and across the country. The event emerged as a significant platform for deliberations on preserving Kashmir’s ancient spiritual heritage, revitalizing Sanatan values and empowering the younger generation through value-based education and cultural awareness.
The proceedings commenced with traditional Archana and Maha Aarti of Mata Tripurasundari, performed according to ancient Vedic traditions. The atmosphere resonated with devotion and spiritual fervour as devotees offered prayers for peace, prosperity, social harmony and the well-being of the nation. ‘Rashtriya Swabhimaan’ Magazine Released: A major attraction of the convention was the formal release of the annual magazine “Rashtriya Swabhimaan”, published under the guidance of Pt Jeeva Nand Sharma, National Spokesperson and President of Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad, Jammu & Kashmir.
The magazine was unveiled by Pt Sunil Bharala, Founder Patron of the Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad and former Minister in the Government of Uttar Pradesh, in the presence of Pt Vinay Sharma, National General Secretary, and Pt Jeeva Nand Sharma.
The publication showcases the extensive work undertaken by the Parishad over the past year, highlighting initiatives related to Vedic education, Gurukul traditions, Gau Seva, cultural preservation, youth development, environmental awareness, promotion of Sanatan values and the safeguarding of Kashmir’s spiritual and cultural identity.
The magazine also reflects the organization’s broader vision of reconnecting future generations with the rich legacy of Kashmir Sanskriti, Kashyap Rishi Parampara, Kashmir Shaivism and Bharatiya cultural traditions, while inspiring youth to actively participate in nation-building and cultural resurgence.
Pt Sunil Bharala Calls for Preservation of Kashmir’s Heritage: Addressing the convention, Pt. Sunil Bharala delivered an inspiring address on the life and teachings of Bhagwan Parshuram, describing him as an enduring symbol of Dharma, courage, justice, wisdom and national awakening.
He highlighted the spiritual significance of Parshuram Dham at Janapav in Madhya Pradesh, associated with Bhagwan Parshuram, and emphasized the importance of connecting younger generations with India’s profound spiritual and cultural roots.
During an interaction with members of the Kashmiri migrant community, Pt. Bharala received a memorandum seeking preservation of Kashmir’s cultural heritage, restoration and protection of ancient temples and sacred sites, conservation of traditional customs and values, and the dignified return of displaced Kashmiri families to their ancestral homeland.
Responding positively, he assured the community that their concerns would be taken up with the Government of India and the relevant authorities, reaffirming his commitment to supporting efforts aimed at preserving Kashmir’s unique cultural and spiritual identity.
Pt Jeeva Nand Sharma Highlights Kashmir’s Spiritual Legacy: Welcoming the distinguished guests and participants, Pt Jeeva Nand Sharma described Kashmir as the sacred land of Rishi Kashyapa, Shiva and Shakti, emphasizing that the preservation of Kashmir’s spiritual heritage and indigenous knowledge traditions is essential for building a culturally rooted and socially harmonious society.
Speaking extensively on Kashmir Shaivism, he elaborated on the philosophy of Shuddha Advaita, which teaches the oneness of all existence in the Supreme Consciousness. He noted that Kashmir has historically been one of the foremost centres of spiritual wisdom and intellectual excellence, making invaluable contributions to Bharatiya philosophy and civilization.
He paid tribute to great spiritual masters including Rishi Kashyapa, Acharya Vasugupta and Acharya Abhinavagupta, whose seminal works such as Tantraloka, Pratyabhijna Darshan and Spanda Karika continue to influence scholars and spiritual seekers across the globe.
Describing Mata Tripurasundari Dham as a living symbol of Kashmir’s ancient spiritual heritage, Sharma stressed the need to strengthen Gurukul education, preserve temples and sacred sites, promote Vedic studies and empower youth through value-based learning rooted in Sanatan Dharma.
Scholars Emphasize Cultural Revival and Youth Leadership: Delivering the keynote address, Pt RC Sharma, Senior Vice President underscored the role of the Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad in promoting social harmony, cultural resurgence and national consciousness. He urged society to work collectively for the preservation of Sanatan values and the strengthening of cultural institutions.
Shri Vikrant Sharma, General Secretary presented a detailed report on the Parishad’s activities and lauded the leadership of Pt Jeeva Nand Sharma, describing him as a distinguished Vedic scholar, social reformer, environmentalist and IITian who dedicated nearly three decades to environmental conservation and cultural awareness initiatives in Jammu & Kashmir.
Several renowned scholars, religious leaders and intellectuals also addressed the convention, emphasizing that Kashmir has historically been a cradle of spiritual wisdom, scholarship and Sanatan traditions. The speakers called for the preservation of ancient temples, sacred scriptures, cultural traditions and philosophical teachings, while urging the youth to reconnect with their roots and play an active role in safeguarding India’s civilizational heritage.
Among the prominent dignitaries present were Pt Raman Thappa (Organizing Secretary), Pt Vikrant Sharma (General Secretary), Pt Pawan Kumar (District President, Jammu), Pt RC Sharma (Senior Vice President), Pt Kuldeep Sharma (General Secretary), Pt Ramakant Sharma and Pt Shadi Lal Sharma, along with a large number of scholars, devotees, social workers and senior members of the organization.
Resolution for Cultural Renaissance: The convention concluded with the adoption of a comprehensive resolution calling for the preservation of Kashmir’s spiritual heritage, protection of Sanatan values, promotion of youth leadership, strengthening of cultural institutions and wider dissemination of Bharatiya knowledge traditions among future generations.
Participants unanimously reaffirmed their commitment to carrying forward the message of Bhagwan Parshuram, the wisdom of the Kashyap Rishi Parampara and the eternal ideals of Sanatan Dharma, pledging to work for cultural renaissance, national unity and the welfare of society at large.
The convention ended on a note of optimism and resolve, with speakers describing the event as a significant step towards rekindling Kashmir’s ancient spiritual legacy and inspiring a new generation to become torchbearers of India’s rich cultural and civilizational heritage.
