Jammu, March 03, 2026: In a series of spectacular and decisive operations, Police Station Miran Sahib has achieved unprecedented breakthroughs in its war against drug smugglers and organized criminals, delivering crippling blows to multiple notorious syndicates. Under the direct supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu Irshad Hussain Rather (JKPS) and SDPO R.S. Pura Gurmeet Singh, and led by the indefatigable SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Jatinder Singh, Miran Sahib Police has arrested several hardcore criminals, recovered a colossal 603 grams of heroin, seized multiple vehicles and weapons, and dismantled critical links in the illicit drug supply chain.
The highlight of these operations is the apprehension of Mushtaq Ali @ Kaka, son of Shah Din, a resident of Sarore Adda, Bari Brahmana, a highly wanted individual. On February 27, 2026, at approximately 8:30 PM, a special naka/patrolling party, headed by SHO Jatinder Singh at Ring Road near Link Road Prithvipur, signaled a Bolero vehicle (Registration No. JK21A-8936) to stop. The occupants, Mushtaq Ali @ Kaka and his associate Mangal Hussain @ Mangal, son of Qasim Din, a resident of Sarore Adda, attempted to flee. Mushtaq Ali @ Kaka even tried to attack the police party with a long sword (sharp-edged weapon), and both then jumped into a 20-25 feet deep cemented drain. However, due to the alertness and swift action of the police team, they were immediately rescued and apprehended. During their personal search, a commercial quantity of 281 grams of heroin was recovered. An iPhone, cash, and the sword were also seized, along with the Bolero vehicle. Preliminary investigation revealed Mushtaq Ali @ Kaka is a habitual offender, drug peddler, hardcore criminal, and the main accused in FIR No. 24/2026 of Police Station Miran Sahib, where he intentionally hit HC Harnam Singh of PS Miran Sahib with his vehicle while attempting to evade police action. He is also reportedly associated with the rival Gang of notorious drug peddler, Lau Gujjar.
This major arrest links to an earlier breakthrough in the same hit-and-run case. On February 21, 2026, SHO Jatinder Singh’s team, while on routine patrolling near Ballol, intercepted a white Swift vehicle (Registration No. JK02DJ/9786). This led to the arrest of another wanted drug peddler, Fareed Ali @ Baba Ring Road @ Bagu, son of Salam Din, a resident of Galwanday Chak Gajansu Marh Kanachak. From Fareed Ali, 14.03 gms of heroin and a toka (sharp-edged weapon) were recovered, and his Swift vehicle was seized under FIR No. 25/2026 U/S 8/21/22/60 NDPS Act & 4/25 Arms Act. Further investigation, based on Fareed Ali’s disclosure, led to the recovery of an additional 12 gms of heroin and one toka from the Swift vehicle involved in the intentional hit-and-run of HC Harnam Singh. So far, in the intentional hit-and-run case, three accused persons have been arrested, and a total of 307 gms of heroin (281 + 14.03 + 12 = 307.03, rounded to 307), along with two sharp-edged weapons and three vehicles (two Swift vehicles and one Bolero), have been seized by Police Station Miran Sahib.
In a separate, equally significant operation, Miran Sahib Police dealt another crushing blow to drug trafficking on February 28, 2026. Acting on specific inputs, SHO Jatinder Singh’s team laid a special naka on Ring Road Miran Sahib. A Swift car (Registration No. PB46AL 0415) carrying notorious criminal-cum-drug peddler Dilbagh Singh, son of Janak Singh, a resident of Malikpur, Miran Sahib, and three associates (Naman Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, and Sunny Sharma) was signaled to stop. The criminals attempted to flee by speeding up the vehicle, but police meticulously used appropriate force, bursting the vehicle’s tire, successfully intercepting and overpowering them. During their search, 40 grams of heroin and a pistol with live ammunition were recovered. The Swift car was also seized. Dilbagh Singh is a notorious criminal, drug peddler, history sheeter, with multiple FIRs against him. He was recently arrested in an NDPS case after completing detention under PIT NDPS Act and had an active PIT NDPS warrant. His associates also have histories of involvement in NDPS cases.
This operation, registered as FIR No. 34/2026 U/S 109,132,3(5) BNS,3/25 Arms Act,8,21,22,29,60 NDPS, further intensified. On the disclosure of Dilbagh Singh and his associates, an additional 256 gms of heroin was recovered from the Indra Nagar area of Miran Sahib. This brings the total heroin recovered in this specific case to 296 gms (40 + 256 = 296), along with one pistol and live ammunition. Cumulatively, Miran Sahib Police, under the exemplary leadership of SHO Jatinder Singh, has seized a remarkable 603 gms of heroin (307 gms from the first case + 296 gms from the second case) in these combined operations.
