Jammu, February 27, 2026: Continuing its relentless and sustained crackdown against drug trafficking, Jammu Police, South Zone, has achieved another significant success by apprehending a notorious drug peddler and recovering a commercial quantity of heroin. This crucial operation, led by the vigilant SHO Police Station Satwari Inspector Jai Pal Singh, under the close supervision of SDPO South Kuljeet Singh, has delivered another decisive blow to the commercial supply chain of narcotics in the region.
The meticulously planned operation unfolded today as a police team from Police Station Satwari, comprising SHO P/S Satwari Inspector Jai Pal Singh and PSI Karan Singh, under the astute guidance of SP South and SDPO South Kuljeet Singh, laid a strategic naka (checkpoint) at Dharap, within the jurisdiction of PS Satwari. During the naka checking, a suspect identified as Rashpal Singh @ Anda, son of Pritam Singh, a resident of Upper Gadigarh, was observed moving from Dharap towards Rohi Pind. Upon noticing the police presence, Rashpal Singh attempted to flee, raising immediate suspicion.
Acting swiftly, professionally, and with commendable alertness, the police team immediately apprehended the individual on the spot. A thorough search was conducted, leading to the recovery of 262 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession. This substantial recovery of a commercial quantity of contraband represents a significant disruption to the illicit drug trade. In this regard, FIR No. 50/2026 has been registered at Police Station Satwari under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is actively underway to uncover broader linkages.
