Rajouri, Dec 20: The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri has issued a final notice directing teachers transferred under the Annual Transfer Drive (ATD)-2025 to report to their new postings within three days, failing which disciplinary action will be initiated.
As per Circular No. CEOR/26284-86 issued on Saturday, the CEO warned that non-compliance within the stipulated period will invite action under Article 226 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service Regulations (CSRs). Such cases will also be referred to competent higher authorities for further action under the rules.
The CEO noted that despite transfers and attachments made under ATD-2025 to address the acute shortage of teachers in hard zones and remote areas, many teachers have failed to join their duties. This, he said, has adversely impacted students due to disruption in academic activities.
The transfers were ordered following numerous complaints from parents, PRI members, and the general public regarding staff shortages in government schools across remote areas of the Rajouri district.
“This circular is issued in the interest of maintaining continuity in academics and ensuring minimal disruption to education in the district,” the CEO stated.
The order further says that a final opportunity has been granted to all such teachers to report to their respective schools within three days, failing which strict action according to rules will follow.
“Failure to comply with the directions within the stipulated time shall render the concerned teachers liable for action under Article 226 of J&K Civil Services Regulations. Their cases shall accordingly be placed before competent higher authorities for further action under rules,” the order reads.
