Jammu, December 12, 2025: The DKR (Doda-Kishtiwar-Ramban) Range, under the resolute leadership of DIG Shridhar Patil, has concluded 2025 with an impressive and sustained crackdown on drug abuse, showcasing a firm commitment to a drug-free society. Throughout the year, police forces within the range executed a comprehensive anti-narcotics offensive, leading to significant arrests, substantial contraband seizures, and robust financial actions against drug traffickers.
Under the direct supervision and strategic guidance of DIG Shridhar Patil, police registered a total of 68 First Information Reports (FIRs) related to drug offenses during 2025. These extensive operations led to the apprehension of 94 persons, effectively disrupting numerous drug peddling networks operating across the region. As part of these enforcement measures, 18 vehicles actively used in drug-related activities were also seized, hindering the logistical capabilities of smugglers.
The impact on the illegal drug supply chain has been substantial, with authorities recovering significant quantities of various narcotics. These seizures include 379 grams of heroin, 3 kg 716 grams of charas, 184 capsules, and 580 bottles of Corex (a codeine-based cough syrup often misused as a drug).
