MHA’s National Survey: Thanamandi PS Among India’s Top 15; Best in J&K

Rajouri, December 4: In a significant achievement for Rajouri district, the Thanamandi Police Station has emerged as the highest-ranked police station in Jammu & Kashmir and secured an impressive 14th position nationwide in the prestigious Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) survey.
The recognition highlights a transformative shift in policing—one rooted in transparency, modern record-keeping, and responsive service delivery.
Unlike routine assessments, the MHA survey closely evaluates measurable indicators such as crime prevention systems, grievance redressal efficiency, accessibility of police services, infrastructure readiness, and citizen satisfaction levels.
Thanamandi Police Station scored strongly on each parameter, largely due to its robust documentation practices—both online and offline—and comprehensive digital profiling of criminal histories. These systematic reforms helped position the station as a model for data-driven law enforcement.
Officials attribute this accomplishment to a coherent leadership framework within the Rajouri Police.
Under the supervision of DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, the strategic guidance of SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar, and the focused monitoring by SDPO Thanamandi Parupkar Singh, the station benefited from a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Their emphasis on professional integrity and adoption of modern policing standards significantly elevated the station’s overall performance.
At the operational level, SHO Thanamandi, Inspector Hilal Azhar played a pivotal role in pushing the station toward excellence.
His hands-on leadership, insistence on timely response mechanisms, and commitment to community engagement ensured that the MHA’s stringent benchmarks were met without compromise.
