DIG Patil Leads Peace Committee Meeting in Doda, Urges Unity and Vigilance Amid Recent Challenges

Doda, Sept 11: In a significant step toward fostering harmony and rebuilding public confidence, a Peace Committee meeting was convened today at the District Police Office (DPO) Doda. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, Sh. Shridhar Patil, IPS, and was attended by Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Harvinder Singh, IAS, Senior Superintendent of Police Doda, Sh. Sandeep Kumar Mehta, JKPS, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner, DySP Headquarters, Tehsildar Doda, and the Station House Officer, PS Doda.
The meeting saw the participation of over 40 eminent citizens from Doda town, who raised several pertinent issues, primarily calling for the swift resumption of relief operations for those affected by recent rains and flash floods. Participants also expressed concern over the overall law and order situation, urging the administration to take proactive steps to restore normalcy and ensure peace prevails in the region.
Community leaders expressed their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and brotherhood, vowing to support the administration in preventing any untoward incidents. The dialogue served as an important bridge between the administration, police, and civil society-strengthening trust and fostering a collaborative environment for peacebuilding.
DIG Patil, in his address, appreciated the community’s positive role in preserving peace thus far. He emphasized the value of shared responsibility and mutual respect in safeguarding the district’s social fabric. “Peace is a collective achievement, and only through unity and resilience can we ensure lasting stability and development,” he stated.
The Deputy Commissioner and SSP Doda echoed these sentiments, assuring the public that all concerns raised would be addressed on priority. They encouraged continued cooperation between citizens and the administration.
Following the meeting, DIG Patil held a press conference where he addressed and dispelled various rumors circulating in the district. His clear and measured responses helped reaffirm public confidence and reinforced the administration’s commitment to transparency.
