SI Mohammad Bashir Malik, with 3 Months to Retirement, Allegedly Demanded Bribe After Forcing False Statement from Minor; Medical Reports Had Confirmed Natural Death
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the R.S. Pura Police Station in a dramatic operation to expose a corrupt nexus attempting to frame Sarpanch Gurdyal Singh in the death of a woman, Pooja Devi; the accused Investigating Officer, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Bashir Malik, managed to escape the CBI’s clutches.
The entire case against the Sarpanch was allegedly built on a false statement coerced from the deceased’s minor daughter under her maternal grandfather’s influence, a fact supported by screenshots where the girl admits her statements are being scripted for her, directly contradicting medical reports that conclusively ruled Pooja Devi’s death as natural (heart attack).
The accused SI, Mohammad Bashir Malik, who has a history of corruption including a previous arrest and custody in Nagrota (FIR No. 58/2025), allegedly arrested the innocent Sarpanch and his relatives despite the evidence, with the intent to extort money, showcasing a brazen abuse of power just three months before his retirement.

R.S. Pura, July 04, 2025: In a shocking exposé of police corruption and a sinister conspiracy, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a raid at the R.S. Pura Police Station to apprehend a Sub-Inspector who allegedly tried to frame an innocent village Sarpanch in a woman’s death case to extort money. The accused officer, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Bashir Malik, who has a history of criminal conduct, managed to escape the trap set by the premier investigating agency. The raid has blown the lid off a vile plot where a grieving minor was allegedly coerced into giving false statements against Sarpanch Gharana, Gurdyal Singh, even after medical reports had unequivocally confirmed the woman, Pooja Devi, died of natural causes.
The sequence of events began a couple of months ago with the tragic death of Pooja Devi at her home. In a moment of distress, her mother-in-law used the deceased’s daughter’s mobile phone to call Sarpanch Gurdyal Singh for help. As the village head, the Sarpanch responded, and CCTV footage from his home and nearby shops clearly shows that he waited outside the deceased’s house while she was brought out and placed in his vehicle to be transported to the R.S. Pura hospital, where she was declared dead.
Initially, police began inquest proceedings, and the Sarpanch was not questioned. Subsequently, two separate medical reports established conclusively that there were no signs of physical assault or injury, and no traces of poison were found. The cause of death was determined to be natural, most likely a heart attack.
However, after these reports established there was no foul play, the case took a malicious turn. The deceased’s father allegedly began a conspiracy to frame the Sarpanch, reportedly due to a pre-existing family dispute where he had previously threatened to implicate the Sarpanch by paying ?5 lakh. The deceased’s minor daughter was allegedly forced to give a false statement under Section 164 of the CrPC, implicating the Sarpanch. The manufactured nature of this statement is substantiated by crucial evidence in the form of screenshots the girl sent to her cousin. In these messages, she allegedly confesses that her maternal grandfather (Nana) is scripting her statements, has given her a diary with the lines she must recite, and that she “cannot save everyone, only her father,” as her grandfather will be the one to support her.
Armed with this false statement, the Investigating Officer, SI Mohammad Bashir Malik, allegedly saw an opportunity for extortion. Despite the contradictory medical evidence and CCTV footage proving the Sarpanch’s innocence, SI Malik arrested the Sarpanch and his relatives and allegedly began demanding money. What makes his actions even more audacious is that he is reportedly just three months away from retirement.
His history, however, suggests a pattern of corruption. SI Malik had previously spent 15 days in custody at Nagrota Police Station in another case, registered under FIR No. 58/2025 for serious offences under sections 319(2), 318(4), 309(4), and 61(2) of the BNS at Police Station Nagrota.
Seeing the blatant injustice and armed with irrefutable proof of the Sarpanch’s innocence, his relatives approached the CBI. A trap was laid. The deceased’s father called the Sarpanch, feigning a desire to “compromise.” When the Sarpanch arrived at the meeting, SI Malik was present and allegedly attempted to wrongfully arrest him. At this moment, the CBI team swooped in. However, in the ensuing chaos, SI Mohammad Bashir Malik managed to escape. The gravity of the situation was underscored by the subsequent arrival of a DIG and an SSP from the CBI at the R.S. Pura Police Station to take control of the matter.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting a terrifying nexus of personal vendetta and police corruption. It exposes how easily the course of justice can be perverted and an innocent person implicated, even when all scientific and physical evidence points to the contrary. The hunt for the fugitive SI is on, and a full-blown investigation is expected to unravel the entire conspiracy.
