Poonch, Jan 23: In an ongoing effort to curb illegal mining operations and safeguard the environment, heavy penalties have been imposed on stone crushers and leaseholders found violating mining regulations. These measures aim to deter individuals and businesses from engaging in activities that can harm the environment and disrupt the local ecosystem.
During a recent whirlwind tour of the district, the District Mineral Officer (DMO) of Poonch took decisive action by imposing substantial fines on multiple stone crushers, leaseholders, and even a government company for their violations. agreements. Additionally, a fine of ?2 lakh has been charged from a government company for failing to comply with operational guidelines.
The DMO emphasized that these fines are not just punitive but also serve as a clear message to all involved in mining activities that strict compliance with mining laws and environmental regulations will be enforced. To reinforce this commitment, the DMO has issued a penalty notice amounting to ?37 lakh to stone crusher unit holders across the Poonch district for violations of established norms.
