Samba, Nov 19: Continuing its drive against traffic violators, the Motor Vehicle Department Samba challaned/ compounded passenger as well as school busses.
A team of ARTO Samba conducted checking on NH 44 and challaned/compounded 38 of vehicles under various provisions of MV Act including 16 school buses. More than 100 vehicles were checked for various violations.
Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Samba, Rehana Tabassum said the main focus of today’s checking was status of Speed limiting devices in School buses. As many as 15 vehicles out of 38 were found without SLD including 08 school buses, which were challaned as per MV Act and rules. A fine of Rs.10000 was also realized from violators on spot.
“Our priority is to ensure safety of passengers as well as school going children” she said.
In addition to checking of school Buses, a joint drive with Traffic Police was also carried out in Vijaypur Bazar and Bus Stand as per directions of Deputy Commissioner Samba against illegal/ wrong parking for sensitizing violators against wrong parking.
