Skill Development Department Jammu does a laudable job, maintain transparency
Farooq Ahmed Khan is master of his job!
- Joint Director, Skill Development Department, Jammu, Farooq Ahmed Khan has taken the lead and gave right directions to the department now it is the turn for others to follow him.
- He re-introduced the comprehensibility and transparency in the Skill Development Department, which is an exemplary work as the department is den of misdeeds and wrong practices to benefit the undeserving persons.
- Mr Khan deserves all appreciations and applause from the employees of Skill Development Department but I know no one will do this because they do not like transparency and fairness.

Jammu, May 31: When Joint Director, Skill Development Department, Jammu, Farooq Ahmed Khan alone can make reform in the office of Jammu province then why not others? Why do the other officers hate the transparency and fairness in the department? What is the purpose to keep away the transparency from the department? Will Director Skill Development Department pay a little attention to improve the fairness and transparency in the department? These are the serious concerns to be focused primarily and work culture be restored in the said department as people are looking on him.
Joint Director, Jammu Division, Skill Development Department JKUT vide his notification No JDSDJ/2022/Estt-149/146-170m dated 18-04-2022, issued updated seniority list of all categories of employees borne on the strength of ITIs of Jammu Division as it stood on 18-04-2022.
With this notification Annexure I to XII is attached for circulation among the Head of Institutes of ITIs of Jammu Division for in formation of the concerned employees. As an advisory in the notification it is said that this updated seniority list shall be gone through by the concerned, however objections if any, be communicated to the office of the JD along with documentary proof through their respective HOIs within 07 days from the date of issuance of this notification for issuance of final seniority list.
All the categories from Vocational Instructors to Ministerial to Class iv to Chowkidaar to Mali have been included. Complete required information regarding the staff has been displayed. Their qualification: academic, technical; DOB, Date of first appointment, Date of promotion, category etc. has been made public.
Regarding this notification it will be in place to mention here that the concerned officer has put in his best efforts and applied his mind to depict that all the orders, circulars, SROs, directions issued by the govt. in general and Adm. Deptt. of SDD in particular are followed in letter and spirit when in the remarks column of the notification he mentions which post has been filled from Direct Quota and which from Promotion Quota. This commendable job depicts integrity, dedication and honesty of the officer along with his staff.
On the other hand in Kashmir Division no such dedication to the cause is witnessed in this regard. In the recent past the same issue was mentioned by the concerned in the media that in a DPC the department has not maintained and mentioned the ratio of PQ and DQ while granting promotions to the deserving staff. Had the concerned section and officers done some home work before hoping on to the final decision, the matters would have run smoothly.
The Joint Director (Kashmir) SDD should wake up and utilise his status, position, worth and experience for resolving the burning issues of the staff working under him. As a good will gesture he should not wait for representations and follow ups of staff from far flung areas.
