DC Jammu will cancel mutation!
- The case of illegal mutation has surfaced on the land of JDA falling under Khasra No 263 and state land 260 by wrongly using 254-C Land Act, which is meant for POJK DPs of 1947 and not for others.
- A social worker has registered a complain to the office of DC Jammu to cancel the illegal mutation No 2460 dated 29-08-2008 and book all those who are involved in entering the illegal mutation besides all those revenue officers till now who are hiding this illegal mutation instead of exposing this big land scam.

Jammu, May 01: How can an officer enter the mutation under 254 C of a land owned by JDA? Which officer has illegally mutated the JDA land under 254 C? Why is the government not dismissing the said officer/officers who cheated the government and the applicant? Why not the government taking action against all those officers who knew the scandal but remained silent over the issue since the entering of illegal mutation? Why not the government framing the charges under section 420 and other cheating sections against the applicant who manage the fraudulently get the land mutated in his/her name? Why not the government framing a case against those who presently claiming to be owner of the land, which was fraudulently mutated in favour of their ancestors? These are some serious concerns about the performance of the revenue department and it is also the concern of the administrators that what kind of administration is being run by them.
The issue is very serious and one social activist has approached the office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu to get the impugned mutation cancelled and evocation of said land from the illegal possession of the land robbers, so that land of law may be implemented in true sense. The issue is related to Khasra No 263 and 260 situated at Paloura near Sacred Heart College Jammu and the illegal mutation has been done with the help of some of revenue officers, besides some revenue officers instead of exposing it they are trying to shield it, which is the matter of serious concern.
The complaint lodged by a social activist against the illegal mutation has got tremendous response from the office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu and was immediately referred to SQ to process and put up for enquiry. The applicant has told the DC office that the land in question was measuring19 kanal and 15 marlas falling under KLhasra No 263 was handed over to JDA in 1975 and it is in the name of JDA. Whereas, the land measuring 2 kanal and 7 marlas has been recorded as state land under Khasra No 260 in the same locality.
The illegal mutation No 2460 dated 29-08-2008 was done by the changing of the title of land under Khasra No 263 and 260 and the title was changed to ownership land in the favour of one Kabla Singh in the relevant land record under section 254-C of the Land Revenue Act, whereas there is no such provision of conversion of state/JDA land in to ownership land.
The complaint has filed an RTI to JDA to know that land in question measuring 36 kanals and 15 marlas under Khasra No 263 has been allotted to any person but the reply clearly stated that land has not been allotted to any one and the land is till belong to JDA, which is a credible proof and do not need more proofs. The office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu without wasting the time must cancel the mutation and hand over the land to JDA so that the said land may be used for the welfare of the people and Jammu & Kashmir.
