Who will check this mess?
- There are four complaints against 15 Stone crushers but there is no one to check this.

Jammu, Apr 01: Why is not the Geology & Mining Department acting against all those Stone Crusher are being operated illegally? Why the Geology & Mining Department soft on violators? Why is not the Geology & Mining Department acting tough on these violators? Why is not the Geology & Mining Department creating a system to track the violators? Why is the Geology & Mining Department so weak before these violators who are exploiting natural resources? Is there any nexus between the Geology & Mining Department and these violators? These are some serious concerns and relevant questions for the department as how they deal with these concerns.
The illegal mining is not new thing in Jammu but at present the administration has taken tough measures to stop the illegal mining but some of the owners of stone crushers are so powerful that officers of Geology & mining are very small before them and they manage everything as per their convenience. The District Mining Officer Jammu is responsible to stop the illegal mining but despite the complaints lodged with District Mining Officer Jammu the fifteen illegal Stone Crushers are openly operating in Jammu district and it seems the concerned officers are in deep slumber are they are hand-in-glove with the violators.
In 2022, the four different complaints were lodged about the fifteen illegal stone crushers are being operating in the Jammu district as copy of four complaints are lying in the office of Jammu Jottings. The first complain was lodged by one Aditya Mahajan on 25-02-2022 and in which he clearly stated that eight Stone Crushers are being run illegally that too on unauctioned blocks and other areas of River Tawi, Jammu district. He also submitted a copy of complaint with the office of Director Geology & Mining on 26-02-2022 under proper receipt. The fifteen illegal Stone Crushers are included Jupiter Stone Crusher; Public Stone Crusher; Khatana Stone Crusher; Northern Stone Crusher; TRB Stone Crusher; Taj Stone Crusher; Surya Stone Crusher; and Charak Stone Crusher all are in Jammu district.
The other complaint was lodged by Brinder on 03-03-2022 with the office of District Mining Officer Jammu and the copies of the complaints were submitted to Deputy Commissioner Jammu, SSP Jammu and Director Geology & Mining Jammu. This complaint was against three illegal Stone Crushers including Shri Ram Stone Crusher; Shri Sain Stone Crusher; and Mahaveer Stone Crusher operating at unauctioned blocks of tehsil Akhnoor, Jammu district.
The third complaint was lodged with District Mining Officer Jammu by Aditya Mahajan on 03-03-2022 and the copy of complaint was submitted to Director Geology & Mining Jammu. The complaint was against two illegally operating Stone Crusher in Jammu district. The two illegally operating Stone Crushers are JK Stone Crusher and Maa Durga Stone Crusher operating at River Tawi Jammu on unauctioned blocks.
The fourth complaint was lodged with District Mining Officer Jammu by Sushil Kumar on 05-03-2022 against two illegally operating Stone Crushers are included Thakur Stone Crusher & Jai Dev Stone Crusher Block 5/13, Kahatarwali Khad Upstream Manoh-Khatar Bridge District Jammu.
Despite written complaints lodged with District Mining Officer Jammu, there is no specific action against these illegal operating stone crushers which is matter of grave concern and people are in quabdary that waht is going in the Geology & Mining department.
