Big land scam in Kote, Bhalwal!
- He was only authorised for 8 kanals but he sold 43 kanals falling under Khasra No 1820 and 1823.
- The Custodian told that no one will spared if found involved in this big land scam.
- It is one of the biggest land scam and the administration is silent over this issue.

Jammu, Mar 25: How can a person sell the land belong to Custodian department? How can a person sell the land more than his share? How can a person cheat the law of land that too openly? Why the concerned Tehsildar who is also Assistant Custodian of his Tehsil not taken the action against the culprits? Why the entire system was watching silently in this episode and remained inactive? Who is responsible for such big land scandal in the village Kote, tehsil Bhalwal? These are some serious concerns which are creating worries among the people and these concerns must be taken seriously and the administration must answer over it.
The big land scam has come up in village Kote in Tehsil Bhalwal that a person has sold the custodian land measuring near about 43 kanals falling under Khasra No 1820 and 1823 in village Kote. The land was belonged to Custodian Department and the original owners have migrated to Pakistan during partition. The original owners are more than one but the man who has posed himself as one of the progenies of the original owners but the man has to adopt the proper procedure and he must to seek the restoration orders from the Custodian department but he has violated the process with the help of revenue officers.
The man got land mutated on his name without the restoration orders from the Custodian department and this is the handy work of Revenue department and the then officials, Then the man has a document called as ‘Agreement to Sell’, which is totally unauthorized and illegal. The man has big plan to mint money and so he roped in the revenue officers and it is beyond our knowledge that how much they have charged from the man as without taking bribe no one will take risk.
The most intriguing part of the story is that the fee required for mutation has been deposited by the Custodian department itself, which also creates doubt on the Custodian department that who was the person behind this illegal mutation episode.
The Custodian Officer Ravinder Sharma told on telephone that he would enquire the matter in depth and will take action accordingly if anyone found involved in the scams. He told that without restoration order no land can be restored to the migrants who left for Pakistan in 1947.
