Jammu, Feb 14: The Divisional Commissioner Jammu has taken strong note of the developing of illegal colonies in and around the Jammu and he is planning to take a major action on those who developed the colonies and the officers who allowed to develop the illegal colonies on the agricultural land and others, which are meant for residential.
The Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer IAS has taken the position in this regard and developing a mechanism to nab all the involved persons in violating the law of land by ignoring the legal parameters for developing the residential colonies everywhere in the Jammu. The land mafias have a command on the Revenue department for last so many years so there was no one to take action against these land mafias but the sitting Divisional Commissioner Jammu has understood the game plan and ready to have a surgical strike on these land-robbers and the revenue officers felicitated the land-robbers.
The Divisional Commissioner Jammu while talking to Jammu Jottings was meant to say that within coming days there would be greater action on such people who are indulged in activities including Bhalwal, Marh, Nagbani Bagh, RS Pura and Karan Bagh. The days have gone when the land mafias were ruling but now the law of land will prevail and no law violators will be spared.
The Nagbani Bagh and Karan Bagh these were two prominent gardens of Jammu province and these two gardens were registered gardens according to the law of land. But they have misused the gardens and developed the illegal colonies in the Bagh (gardens). These colonies inside the Karan Bagh and Nagbani Bagh are totally illegal and the people who are developing these colonies are very influential and beyond the reach of law but now they would not be spared at any cost.
The Divisional Commissioner Jammu has kept a vigil eye on every happening in the Jammu and every illegal development is being watched by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, which should be dealt firmly with iron hands. The open loot of land in Jammu is going to end and those who have grabbed the land in past too they have to pay through nose.
It is pertinent to mention that major action against illegal colonies being established as Div Com Jammu takes serious note, where as Chargesheeting recommended against 9 Revenue officials, 4 JDA officials. The delinquent Officials against whom major action has been recommended in view of brazen violations include 02 Tehsildar rank Officers, 01 Naib Tehsildar, 02 Girdawars, 03 members of BOCA team of JDA & 05 Patwaris.

Violations of Jammu Master Plan, J&K Development Act 1970, Control of Buildings Operations Act 1988, J&K Land Revenue Act 1996 etc were found.
Widespread conversion of agricultural/irrigated land was found on the spot pointing towards connivance of revenue officials. It is being noticed that the Div Com had been receiving complaints from various quarters on alienation rules as provided in the recent amendment to the Land Revenue Act vide Notification of GoI dated 26.10.2020.
The ETS survey and spot verification was got done by the Div Com in which at many places encroachments of State land/Shamilat land/land of local allottees was also found. The report that is available with our sources also point out to fact that many other violations were noticed by the special team deputed by the Div Com viz; Girdawari/harvest inspections not being conducted by the delinquent Patwaris and Fard intikhab registers not found to be maintained. As per the report, the inspecting team also noticed that Fard partal was not being done; besides that illegal entries over State land were still found to be intact despite directions of the Govt for expunging of all such entries.
