Mehta Sahib, please pull the strings!
- The Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation failed to achieve the targets of operative fleet and revenue collection targets, which is matter of shame.
- The Corporation failed to earn its operational revenue, as operational loss ranged between Rs 15.03 per kilometre to Rs 34.68 kilometre during the period from 2014 to 2019.

Jammu, Jan 31: Why is the administration silent over the miss-management in the working of Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation? Why are not the corrupt officers working in the Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation being expelled that too declaring deadwood and the loss incurred be recovered from them by selling their properties and other assets? Why the wrong policies being adopted by the sitting officers not to be changed with suitable and profitable policies so that Corporation may earn profit? What is the reason that Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation has to undergo through heavy losses every year except a few years when AK Mehta was the Managing Director? These are some very tough but most relevant questions for the entire administration to reply and to work on these aspects so that the corporation may achieve profit and the honest and genuine employees may work honestly.
The CAG report has many things to say in the concern of performance of the Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation but the sitting officers are so unabashed that they hardly care for the losses in the corporation.
The CAG in its report state way declared that Planning Wing of the Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation is worthless and failed to prepare any perspective plan or a long term plan for the revival of the Corporation. “The Planning Wing of the Corporation had not prepared any perspective plan or long term plan for its revival.” These slamming words must be taken seriously by the officers of the corporation and must show some modesty & shamefulness and make a perspective plan.
The other shortcomings of the corporation, ‘Shortfall in achievement of targets of operative fleet and revenue collection targets the period from 2014-156 to 2017-18 ranged between 28 per cent to 33 per cent and 31 percent to 37 percent, respectively. The overall shortfall in achievement of targets of revenue during the period from 2014-15 to 2017-18 was Rs 165.22 crore.
Not only this the CAG report further said, “The Corporation failed to earn its operational revenue, as operational loss ranged between Rs 15.03 per kilometre to Rs 34.68 kilometre during the period from 2014 to 2019.”
This is not simple charges on the sitting administration and administrators but these are very serious charges and they have to mend their ways otherwise the government has to act tough on them with a result they have to suffer and to run from pillar to post in coming days.
