Anti-encroachment drive should be fair!
- The Naib Tehsildar Jourian is very serious about illegal construction of five shops but others are very callous including AEE Irrigation Akhnoor.

Jammu, Jan 11: Why SDM Akhnoor is silent over the illegal construction of five shops on state land Khasra No 282 Min Rakh Dhok Jourian opposite to Shaheed Samark Jourian? Why SDM Akhnoor seems so helpless in the case of illegal five shops on state land Khasra No 282 Rakh Dhok Jourian? Why SDM Akhnoor is not taking immediate action on the letter of one of his Naib Tehsildar Jourian requesting for demolishing the illegal five shops? Why SDM Akhnoor is ignoring the issue of illegal construction of five shops on state land? The questions are exposing and also suggesting the revenue department to update their performance to uphold the law of land and SDM Akhnoor must act accordingly.
The Naib Tehsildar Jourian has detected that some law violators and land robbers have illegally constructed the five shops on the state land situated at Rakh Dhok Jourian Khasra No 282 Min at present the said land stands under the Department of irrigation. In this concern, the Naib Tehsialdar Jourian has written a letter to Assistant Executive Engineer, Irrigation Deaprtment, Akhnoor vide its letter No NTJ/2021-22/844 dated 07-01-2022 and also sent the copy to SDM Akhnoor and Tehsildar Jourian to act in advance on the illegal construction but there is no action. The letter of Naib Tehsildar Jourian clearly states as ‘So you are requested to demolish the said land and submit the detail report to the office of the undersigned by or before 10-01-2022 upto 4 pm.’ Here I would like to clarify that Naib Tehsildar has written as ‘to demolish said land’ in his sentence and I want to correct that the Naib Tehsildar mean to write ‘the said structure’ instead of ‘the said land’.
It is understood that Naib Tehsildar Jourian has detected the illegal construction of five shops after completing the process and he immediately swung into action and now the ball is in the court of SDM Akhnoor, Tehsidlar Jourian and AEE Irrigation Akhnoor. The criminal silence of AEE Irrigation Akhnoor is also creating some doubts that why AEE is silently supporting the land robbers.
The Nain Tehsildar Jourian has not opted the silence over the issue, he wrote another letter to Executive Officer Municipal Committee Jourian on 10-01-2022 vide its letter No NTJ/2021-22/846 to demolish the illegal five shops. He also sent the copy of this letter to SDM Akhnoor and Tehsildar Jourian. The Naib Tehsildar Jourian has taken this issue seriously as he understood the gravity of seriousness of the issue and so he twice communicated to SDM Akhnoor and Tehsildar Jourian but it seems that nothing has been done by SDM Akhnoor and Tehsildar Jourian.
The issue is of very serious of nature but the head of Sub Division Akhnoor has taken it otherwise. The anti-encroachment drive must be fair & honest and it should not be used as weapon to target some of the poor families or pick and chose policy.
