Kashmir and Terrorism

Terrorism in Kashmir once again is raising its head. Though it had been claimed by the central and UT government several times that terrorism has been brought under control in the valley. Even, a year or so ago this was also claimed that several areas of the valley had been made terrorists free and from many areas the terrorists have been wiped out. But the incidents of terrorism though have come down to some extent but that decliner may some other reasons like they were perhaps consolidating their net work, which was presumed as the control over the activities of terrorists. But on ground level the terrorism was showing its barbarous face at several occasions and through its various heinous activities. Several men of security forces, particularly f Jammu and Kashmir have fallen prey to the bullets of these inhuman terrorists. Above all the killings of the political leaders that too at their residence was not only shocking but also surprising. How the anti-national elements make their entry in the busy and high security zones and kill the people. During the past few months many civilians have also been killed. In the last few week many police men of Jammu Kashmir police have become then target of those brutal terrorists, who are  sponsored and supported by Pakistan. In the earlier incidents the terrorists have carried out their attacks n the suburbs of the cities but now their activities have reached to the main centers of Srinagar city also. The attack in Bemina and now at Pantha Chowk-Zevan has come as a shock as far as the security system is concerned. More concerning is that in the incident of 13^th December is that a police vehicle with about fourteen policemen of   J&K Armed Police came under attack of terrorism but there had been, as the reports indicate, no retaliation from the Jawans and officers of J & K Armed police travelling in the ill-fated vehicle.  Were they without weapons, if it is so, as seems to be from the media briefing,  then it is really a big lapse on the concerned officers and also of the administrators and also very serious. This has also been noticed that at several places across the valley and also in many terrorism affected areas of Jammu division the police deputed on day or night duty is without weapons. How the officers and also the administrators of the UT home department can go with arms less police men on duty day/night without weapons in the areas where all the times is possibility of terrorists attack?
