The relationship of some things with Jammu is so close and deep that without mentioning them, its mention of Jammu remains incomplete. They cannot be seen on any surface apart from Jammu, for example, Raghunath temple. Of course, Jammu is called the city of Temples, but whenever and wherever there is any reference to Jammu, the Raghunath temple is definitely talked about and referred about. So, if we have to say something about the history of Jammu, then without mentioning the river Tawi, the matter would not be complete! Actually Tawi is not just a river but it is the lifeline of Jammu. This Tawi River flowing from centuries has been quenching the thirst of the people of Jammu since its birth. People have not only given their love to this river but have also given full respect! Treating her as a daughter of God of Sun, she is also worshiped. The mention of the Tawi River is not only found in the books of history but also in the Puranic texts and ancient religious books. This river has been called Kahin Toushi, Kahin Tavshi and Kahin Tavishi. The name is going on, this holy river has a relationship with Jammu in the same way as the body and spirit. Tawi, which flows down the eastern part of the city of Jammu, has seen the kind of political and social ups and downs in Jammu with its own eyes. There was a time when this Tawi acted as a border for Jammu. Beyond this, that is, from the left shore, the border of the second princely state begins, Jatin thin as if the Bahu princely state. Some historians say that Raja Kapoor Dev, who ruled Jammu from 1530 to 1570, made his two sons Jagdev and Smeldev Men, when the kingdom was divided, then the kingdom of Jammu was ruled by Smaildev and the king of Bahu was ruled by Jagdev. In this way, Tawi was considered as the border between these two princely states. Not only this, there was blood and blood between these two princely states and the poor Tawi river kept silently watching and tolerating the blood flowing from its sacred waters in its holy water. And then came the time when Raza Haridev, who ruled Jammu from 1650 to 1686, took control of Main Bahu in about 1660, after which the Tawi river was not only saved from becoming a border between his people, but it became a river flowing in the middle of my city of Jammu.
