Winter and the shelter less people

Winter season has now almost begun to show its impact. With the result people have now started using warm clothes including sweaters, pullovers, coats and jackets particularly in the morning and evening hours. Movement of the public as well as of the transport also now begins at a very thin level as late as by around six in the morning and comes to be at the same thin level around 9 pm or so in the night. In the summer season people come on the road or street at about 5 am and continue till midnight. Winter is a harsh season of the year and one must have sufficient warm clothes and warm bedding. Similarly special food is the requirement of this season for survival but one thing which is most essential is a shelter. Without a proper house or shelter of any kind which is well covered with walls and has a roof to protect from the cold temperature, survival of human beings is almost impossible. In our country many people die because of severe cold temperatures. The prime reason behind these deaths is the non availability of a proper shelter. Although, there are many people who fall prey to the extreme cold conditions because of insufficient warm clothing and bedding. In Jammu and Kashmir such cases were almost nil but since the people in large numbers from other states have migrated and many of them are not immune to the cold wave of this region have been reported dead because of winter during the past couple of years but still such cases are very rare. But as the inflow of the people of other states is increasing with every coming day such cases will definitely rise. In Jammu and Kashmir there are no shelters for the people who are shelter less as in this region till few last years there had been almost no person who was in possession of a shelter may be of mud, or bricks. The level of the shelters may have been different but there had been no person without any shelter. Secondly, every citizen of this region was capable of having a good stock of warm clothes and warm bedding. Besides, every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir was also capable of having good and required food for the winter and was in a position to save him and his family from the harsh season of winter. But now the situation has changed and is going to be bad to worse so there is a need to build some shelters in the main towns where the people who have lost are still losing their jobs and are unable to carry on their petty business as they had been a couple of years ago will certainly need such shelters.
