Covid-19 dead in HP will get 50k compensation, notification issued

Hamirpur (HP), Oct 1: Following directions from the central government as per the decision of the Supreme Court of India, the Himachal Pradesh government has issued a notification for providing cash compensation of fifty thousand rupees to the next of kin of those who have died due to the Covid-19 during the last two years.
As per the notification issued by the Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority, it will be mandatory to show the certificate of death due to coronavirus for compensation.

A form has also been issued by the state disaster management, by which the relatives of the deceased who died of Kovid-19 will be able to apply. The money will come directly into the account linked to Aadhaar.

It’s worth mentioning here that 3,660 people have lost their lives due to the dreaded virus and the district of Kangra had led the table with maximum numbers of 1,085 deaths, followed by Shimla-633, Mandi-435, Solan-314, Hamirpur-275, Una-248, Sirmaur-211, Chamba-160, Kullu-158, Bilaspur-85, Kinnanur-38 and Lahaul and Spiti-18 respectively.

In all, a sum of 18.30 crore rupees will be given as compensation to the families of the deceased’s to date.
The compensation amount will be directly transferred to the Aadhaar linked account.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Hamirpur, Debasweta Banik has told all the affected families to fill the forms that will be given to them through his office or the office of disaster management.
She has clarified that in the proposed form of compensation seeking all the necessary documents to be attached with the application. The most important corona death date certificate will have to be applied. Along with this, the Aadhar card of the deceased and the one who wants to get compensation will have to be attached and sent to the district administration.
Patients who have died at home or hospital and have not recovered after being infected with corona will be the main persons whose families would get relief.
However, the deaths due to poisoning, suicide, and accident, etc. will not be counted in the death due to coronavirus, even if they are found infected. UNI
