Goon or contractor!
- The license of contractor Imran Hussain must be suspended cancelled as his attitude is not in the interest of society and the JMC. *His license must be minutely checked as the character certificate has been annexed with his renewal application, if annexed then its genuineness must be checked and a new character certificate may be asked.
- Executive Engineer Harvinder Singh is very serious in this issue and will not spare the errant contractor for such behaviour.
- Corporator Narotam Sharma strongly condemned the incident and said that he would try to raise the issue in the general meeting of the house, if he will get chance and the errant contractor has to be debarred.
Jammu, Sep 30:In a shocking incident, one contractor namely Imarn Hussain son of Mr Bashir Ahmed resident of 245- Talab Kahatikan Jammu but atr present at Bathindi has openly threatened two Junior Engineers of dire consequences if they will intervene in his affair.
As per the official letter written by Executive Engineer, Jammu Municipal Corporation Sub Division-V Jammu Harvinder Singh to Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu district in which he asked the SSP Jammu to lodge FIR against the contractor Imran Hussain to whom the concerned work was allotted has openly abused and manhandled the on duty Junior Engineers Sanjat Sharma and Abhishek Khajuria who were on their job to supervise the ongoing work as per the mandate given to them. The errant contractor has objected their interference and hurled abuses on them. The contractor has crossed all the limits that he not tried to manhandle the respected Engineers but he actually manhandled them as per the letter of Executive Engineer, Jammu Municipal Corporation Sub Division-V Jammu Harvinder Singh vide his letter No JMC/V/1774-77 dated 30-09-2021. The Executive Engineer, Jammu Municipal Corporation Sub Division-V Jammu Harvinder Singh has taken a well thought and purposeful decision to report the matter to the police so that anti-social person may not dominate the construction division of the Jammu Municipal Corporation. The contractor having such attitude can be dangerous for the department and the people.
The Assistant Executive Engineer Jammu Municipal Corporation Sub Division IV vide his letter No JMC/M/33 dated 30-09-2021 has reported the issue to his superior officer Executive Engineer, Jammu Municipal Corporation Sub Division-V Jammu Harvinder Singh and he turn reported the matter to the SSP Jammu. The letter speaks as “As reported by Assistant Executive Engineer Jammu Municipal Corporation Sub Div-IV Jammu vide his letter No JMC/M/33 dated 30-09-2021 that the work for “Construction of deep drain in the centre of lane from H/o Sh Bachan lal Paorch Rtd PDD XEN in Ward No 51, (14th F.C. 2019-20)” is in progress by this Division. During execution of work the contractor Sh Imran Hussain S/o Sh Bashir Ahmed R/o 245- Talab Kahatikan Jammu at present Bathindi to whom the work has been allotted abused and manhandled the on duty Junior Engineers Sh Sanjay Sharma and Sh Abhishek Khajuria, who have been supervising the work. Moreover the contractor Sh Imran Hussain also threatened the Junior Engineers for their lives. Yoru goodself is as such requested to lodge FIR against Sh Imran Hussain S/o Sh Bashir Ahmed & get him arrested at an earliest as he can be dangerous to lives of these officials.”
The Executive Engineer, Jammu Municipal Corporation Sub Division-V Jammu Harvinder Singh has expressed very serious concern in the letter that the officials are in danger on the hands of errant contractor. He also sent the copy of this letter to Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Joint Commissioner (Works) JMC Jammu and Assistant Executive Engineer JMC Sub Division.
The concern Executive Engineer told that he would enquire the matter in depth and within days he would be an instrumental to get the license debar of the errant contractor Imran Hussain so that he could not get the work in future. He said, “Our engineers are very sincere to their jobs and will not compromise with any sort of sub-standard work.” He further said that entire department stand with both the engineers who openly dared for not compromising with their ethics.
The hardworking Corporator Narotam Sharma has strongly condemned the sad incident and said that whenever he will get the chance, he would try to raise the issue in the general meeting of the JMC house. He said, “We all are custodian of the JMC and every one will come out and oppose such incident, which is against the society in general”
