J&K becomes hub of political activities, elections are round the corner
*Post August 05, 2019. neither people are happy nor angry, but there are some occasions that some politicians rake up the issue of article 370 and 35A.

The Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory has become the hub of political activities as it is being supposed that the assembly elections are round the corner though there is no official word over yet the political parties are making beeline in Jammu & Kashmir.
It is pertinent to mention that on June 19, 2018, the Jammu and Kashmir government led by Mehbooba Mufti fell after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) snapped ties with ally Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Since then, Jammu and Kashmir has been bifurcated into two Union Territories — the other being Ladakh. Article 370 has been abrogated ending the special status (both decisions were taken in 2019) and a new elected body, the District Development Council (DDC), has been created (2020).
But with the passage of time everything has been changed and the people of state neither happy nor angry post August 05, 2019 but sometime in political rallies some politicians rake up the issue of restoration of Article 370 and 35A as both were temporary and not permanent part of the Indian constitution. The restoration of statehood is likely to be done in future but restoration Article 370 and 35A is like a distant dream and no any government in future will try to restore it.
With each passing day there are new political developments and rumours. With the Prime Minister held the meeting with the leaders of all political parties especially belonging to Jammu & Kashmir there is fresh buzz about Jammu and Kashmir, in New Delhi and in the Kashmir Valley. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has something different in his store and he has only completed formalities for the sake of political stunt held the meeting with the leaders of J&K of all political parties. Invitations were sent to selective people and those who have attended were not allowed to share their ideas in the meeting.
Reports also suggested that the agenda of PM Modi’s meetings with the Jammu and Kashmir leaders is “to strengthen political processes” in the Union Territory. In an interview to a media house, Jammu and Kashmir once Lt Governor Manoj Sinha said, “…polls in J&K will be held after delimitation”.
Delimitation is a process of reorganising territorial boundaries of existing constituencies for election to various bodies.
Among those who invited were former chief ministers, deputy chief ministers and heads of mainstream political parties. Six months after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, a delimitation commission was set up, headed by Justice (retired) Ranjana Desai, the delimitation commission was given an extension of one year in March. The process is underway.
