VC Ashok Aima ruins CUJ!
Engaged his relatives; friends through backdoor, pays huge salaries
*Tainted officers like Kiran Wattal, who has been booked by the then ACB as Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation not only reemployed in CUJ but also awarded by CUJ.

Booked by the Anti corruption Bureau (ACB), for issuing illegal building permission while holding the post of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kiran Watal not only sneaked into a top position in Central University of Jammu (CUJ), but also managed to get award by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Ashok Kumar on 6th of September for his so-called exemplary.
Prof Aima has apparently ruined the prestigious CUJ, for which the Jammuites fought a long agitation and forced the then Union Government (UPA-II) for sanctioning the university.
“Prof Aima, has made the University as his private property by engaging his friends and relatives on top posts. He has drained funds received by the University for its development. Term of Prof Ashok Aima came to end on April 2020, till date he was a care taker VC. But between April 2020 to till date he took a number of policy decisions”, sources told the Jammu Jottings.
“Prof Aima has faced the heat in 2019 when manipulated reservation roster. And same year, the issue of his under-construction mansion caught public attention. Aima for his dream home has so far spent crore of rupees. The ACB, initially when the issue of his overnight raised property came into light acted on several other financial irregularities. But, latter the ACB instead of going ahead, turned blind eye into open loot of University funds”, said a social activist, who kept highlighting misdeed of Prof Aima almost on daily bases.
“Aima promoted nepotism and opened University’s doors for a particular community in the University, ignoring competent and deserving people from Jammu”, he added.
“Prof Aima blue eyed boy, Er. Kiran Watal, (EX JMC Commissioner) was booked by the ACB vide FIR No. 12/2019-ACBJ, 07/06/2019, for issuing illegal building permission including then Sr. Town Planner Ms Farzana Naqashbandi & others”, sources said, adding that the case is still under investigation.
Sources further said that instead of using his own authority to prevent wrong doing of Prof Aima, the Registrar of Central University of Jammu, Ravi Kumar is acting a business partner of Prof Aima, Jammuites should against launch a full-fledged agitation to save this institution and expose misdeed off Prof Amia, under whose leadership the CUJ was declared as non-performing among other universities of Country by the University Grant Commission (UGC).
