Look busy, do nothing!

Look busy, do nothing!
Only ordering enquiry is a fashion of Forest department, nothing more than this
*The Forest department has been converted into den of corrupt practices; let it be illegal felling of trees from Forest land, allowing encroachment of Forest land, haphazard transfers and attachments, shielding of corrupt rangers and many more things.
*The top man should be strong, if the administration has to run any department but in forest top man is very ineffective so how can forest department be saved.
Jammu, Jun 15:
The Forest Department of Jammu & Kashmir once having very significant role in the society and also commanding respect in the society but at present officers of Forest department has earned bad name to the department and they become millionaire in their short span of service period.
The Jammu Jottings team time and again raised the issue of illegal and corrupt practices going on in the Forest department but the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir Mr Mohit Gera IFS does not waking up from the deep slumber either he is shielding scabs and corrupt persons of the department or he is totally incompetent to be Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir.
The more strange is thing is that the senior officers including Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir do not have knowledge about their department and they only knows how to enjoy the life on the expenses of department and state exchequer. When they want to go for picnic with their families, they plan an official tour and go for picnic to such a spot, where they can show that they have gone on an official tour. This is the way, how they misusing their official position and spending the money lavishly.
Till the Jammu Jottings have been carrying the stories of increasing corrupt practices in the Forest department, the department has ordered two different enquiries by two different officers. One was ordered by the office of Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir vide its office letter No PCCF/Coord/F.P/E. Circle/1866-68 dated 08-05-2021 and asked Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu ‘to get the matter enquired upon to verify the facts and submit the report along with your recommendation to this office within 03 days.’ The letter itself is contradictory that he not ordered the Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu to enquire the issue but the letter to get the matter enquired, which itself a cruel joke and mockery of office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir.
Now the issue is that till May 08, the three days of Forest department especially of Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir and Chief Conservator of Jammu has not completed. The three days of Forest department are so long that 38 days have passed as per normal but not for Forest Department.
The second enquiry was ordered by Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu himself in which he constituted as committee of four members with DFO Kathua as chairperson. The enquiry was ordered on 29-05-2021 vide his office letter No CCF/J/NG/Estt/402-09 and asked the member to report within seven days but there are divergent reports in this regard. The members said that they have deposited the enquiry report and the concerned office is unaware about the enquiry report.
The Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu has proceeded on leave and the incharge Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu is unclear about it. Mere ordering of enquiring is not solution to the problem and corrupt practices but the enquiry report must be opened and shared with Jammu Jottings as they openly mentioned the name of Jammu Jottings in the enquiry order.
The need of the hour is that the senior officers like Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu and Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir may be replaced with effective, energetic, dynamic and honest persons otherwise it would be severely disastrous for the administration to save the Forest department.
