Social Forestry Guard has foiled bid of timber thieves to smuggle wood
*Enough is enough, and now it is being considered that senior officers of Forest department including Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir are ineffective to save the department.
*Why not the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir handing over the case of illegal felling of trees in large numbers and smuggling of wood to the Crime Branch of CBI to detect the scab of the department?
*Without involvement of Forest officers such huge illegal felling and smuggling cannot be carried but to detect about the officer or officers involved in the scam is the responsibility of Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir but he is opting silence in this issue, reason is beyond to understand.
*The enquiry committee will tentatively furnish the report of illegal felling of Khair trees in Jagti Nagrtota said one of the members.
*Guard Ghulam Ali must be honoured for his bravery act and other officers who are drawing huge money as salary must learn from him sincerity and honesty.

Despite so many hue and cries about the illegal smuggling of Khair wood from the Forest and other private lands, today in the wee hours the smugglers tried to smuggle the costly wood through two cars but the honest and vigilant guard of Social Forestry Gulam Ali has foiled their bid at the stake of his own life. The smugglers were so shrewd that they have wrapped the timber/wood in a carpet to hoodwink the people but one vigilant Guard has foiled the bid of smuggling of wood.
Early in the morning at 4.13 am the hardcore wood smugglers have filled the dickeys of their two cars bearing registration No JK02CG 4544 and JK08E 1824 with Khair wood, which was already felled by them with the collusion of the Forest senior officials, who is very famous to lay hands on the Khair trees and other trees. Under his supervision, the illegal felling of Khair and other trees is a normal affair and not a crime. He thinks himself as the owner of the Forest and not an employee of the department. The smugglers and drivers of the vehicle fled from the scene as single Guard could not hold them.
The vigilant Guard who had put his life in risk to foil the bid of wood smuggling has alone laid the nakka as he was suspected that some people will smuggle the wood and his suspect has turned into real and he did his job with utmost sincerity and honesty.
The other officials of Social Forestry also reached on the spot and at last the Ranger of Jammu Range Vijay Khosla also appeared on the scene to mark his presence. The wood which was supposed to be smuggled has been seized by the Forest officers and taken into the custody. The smuggled wood was despatched by Tok Wazira Nagrota and was caught near Kashmiri mohalla.
The Ranger of Jammu Ranger is so callous that in his range the illegal felling and smuggling is on war-footed but the man could not catch a single person who was involved in illegal felling and smuggling the Kahir trees and other trees. It clearly indicates the Ranger Jammu Range is very much accused of dereliction of his duties and must be investigated by the Crime Branch to ascertain the facts behind the illegal felling of trees and then smuggling of wood.
It is pertinent to mention that in the illegal felling of Khair trees in Jagti Nagrota the enquiry is going by the enquiry committee constituted by Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu to investigate the illegal felling, One of the members of enquiry committee has accepted that they have found in abundance the illegal felling of Khair trees and the report will be furnished tomorrow tentatively.
But the silence of Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir is beyond the understanding. The smugglers are so powerful that they have forced the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir to adopt silence or the Khair man is so powerful that no one from Forest department can ask him let the officer is himself is Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir
