Drive against absconders continues, absconder arrested after 17 years: Reasi police

There is an old saying that if the boss is honest and hardworking person then there is no power which can held up the administration can get loose or ineffective. This is the case in Reasi district Police. Since the Shalendar Singh has taken the charge of head of Reasi district police Senior Superintended of Police, the police department has suddenly got a new energy to work and everyday and the very old cases are being solved one by one.
Under the energetic and dynamic supervision of SSP Reasi Mr Shalender Singh the district police has solved very old cases pending since decades due to the lack of will and interest of SSP.
Working untiringly, the Reasi Police arrested an absconder accused of distillation of illicit liquor & its smuggling.
Accused Swarna Devi wife of Uttam Singh resident of Village Sulghar Ramnagar, Tehsil & District Udhampur at present Anand Nagar Talab Tillo Bohri was absconding in Case FIR no 298/2001 Dated 20/12/2001 U/S 48, 48-f of Police Station Katra.
Case FIR was proved and challaned in the court of law, to avoid conviction accused jumped trial proceedings by going underground & couldn’t be apprehended since 2003.
A warrent under section 512 CrPC was issued by Hon’ble court of Sub Judge Katra against the accused on 11/12/2003.
By meticulously planning & coordinated efforts after developing input, team of Police Station Katra arrested the accused.
This is the arrest of Thirteenth absconder by Reasi Police within a period of Six weeks time against whom warrants U/S 512 CrPC was pending.
