Revenue department pulls its socks, intiates inquiry in illegal felling Khair trees
*The role of Patwari Rakesh may be investigated in every angle to know the fact and to dug the corrupt practices.
*Those who are using JCB to remove stumps should be arrested and the JCB must be seized in anti-law activities.
Jammu, May 23:
The Revenue department has come into action and started investigation into the illegal felling of Khair trees, which has been remained elusive for so many days.
On the complaint, the Sub Divisional Magistrate Akhnoor has referred the complaint to the concerned Tehsildar on 15-05-2021 vide its office No SDM/AKH/21-22/234 and the action has been initiated.
The reports pouring in office that the Revenue department has summoned some of the persons who are allegedly involved in illegally felling Khair trees in Kalidhar Forest Range and people are trying to hide their guilt by using JCB to uproot the stumps but this method will not serve if someone enquires the matter seriously.
But still patwaris are adopting selective approach and have issued summons to selective people and left many major culprits. The role of revenue department in controlling the illegal felling of Khair tress is very important as they have to count the trees but they often shirk from their duties.
The role of one patwari Rakesh is very dubious and should be investigated by any investigating agency. The people of the locality told that there is very fraudulent and every department has played fraud here. They said that no any department has properly worked here and only to mint the money on one pretext or other. They said that even they have to seek permission for cutting of trees that too amounts very costly as they have to pay bribe to every person, who so ever come in the way to get permission.
