Jammu, June 20, 2025: In a resounding crackdown on criminal elements, Jammu Police’s South Zone, under the dynamic leadership of SSP Jammu Shri Joginder Singh (JKPS) and SHO Satwari Inspector Jai Pal Singh, has intensified its operations against the underworld and narcotics trade, achieving major success in recent weeks.
In a series of tightly coordinated actions, Police Station Satwari has registered five FIRs under the Arms Act, recovering five illegal weapons and arresting five notorious criminals. Additionally, five separate FIRs under the NDPS Act were lodged, leading to the seizure of 42.17 grams of heroin, 140 banned injections, and 100 psychotropic tablets, along with the arrest of six habitual drug offenders.
Furthermore, three hardened criminals have been booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
On June 20, 2025, in a major breakthrough, a notorious criminal was apprehended by the vigilant team of Police Post Chatha. Acting on precise inputs, PSI Karnail Singh of ICPP Chatha, under the close supervision of SHO Satwari Insp. Jai Pal Singh, SDPO Gandhi Nagar Shri Sunil Singh Jasrotia, and SP South Shri Ajay Sharma (JKPS), arrested the accused Jatinder Singh alias Kala, son of Sardar Gurbaksh Singh, a resident of Village Chatha.
The criminal was found in possession of a country-made pistol (Desi Katta) and a live cartridge. During the course of interrogation, it was revealed that he is a habitual offender, earlier arrested in a sensational murder case under FIR No. 24/2010 U/S 302 RPC at Police Station Bahu Fort, Jammu. He had recently been released on bail.
Following his arrest, a fresh FIR No. 129/2025 U/S 3/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Satwari. He is currently in police custody as further investigations unfold.
