Bribe & officers

Corruption and bribe these two words are very common word among the
government offices, whereas people are much familiar. It is very true that when
they have to get the work done then the word bribe must strike in the mind of
applicants, because it is one of the most important ingredients to get the work
done. The people, often, has to make several rounds of the offices to get the
work done from the office but they failed for this but when they use most
important thing is bribe then the work automatically get the work done. I would
want to say that there is always a possibility of illegality in the money
transaction if it is done in cash, but not all the time. To overcome this problem
long ago a system of doing transactions through cheques issued by the banks
was introduced which proved to be ineffective. Because any money transaction
made through cheque can easily be traced to the name of both the receiver of
the amount and of the issuing person. As such the purpose of the transaction can
also be traced very easily. So the use of cheques in any doubtful money
transaction is almost zero and for corruption it is almost unbelievable. A corrupt
official will never ask for any money in the shape of a cheque as corruption, and
he always prefers all such dealings in cash. There are some case in which the
mode of payment was opted through cheques, it is really surprising for both the
public and also for other investigating agencies that an amount settled as
corruption can be paid in the shape of a cheque and not in cash or jewelry or in
any other shape like land, vehicle or in the shape of a valuable gift. How can a
corrupt officer agree to accept the amount of corruption in the form of a
cheque? Secondly this also has to be seen that whether in legal terms or the
judiciary will accept a money transaction through cheque can be corruption. So
far any money transaction through cheque is believed to be the legal transaction
and the money paid through cheque is accepted as white money even by the
finance ministry and income tax department, then how the CBI will prove that
the amount mentioned in the cheque is not legal and is the amount being paid as
corruption? This shall be really very interesting to see the outcome of the whole
episode when it reaches the platform of judicial action.
