Misconception of being Supreme

Many people sometimes raise a question that why should the kids be taught about history, our past. According to them the past has nothing to do with our future and as such the past should not be accorded any importance, particularly in the curriculum of our education system. Interestingly, on many occasions these people opposing the study of history recite several examples of the past to prove themselves to be superior and supreme in comparison to others. Many of such people have nothing as such to show the society as an achievement obtained on their own. Only the past is their ground to stand in the society and the present is completely blank without a single success or accomplishment. Despite this they are not in favour of teaching history or the events of the past. But there is a big majority which favors the study of history, the past of any community, region or country. According to them the past is as important as the present and the future is. They feel that the past or the history serves the purpose of learning lessons from the mistakes done in the past and adopt those qualities which made our community, our region and our country proud and laurels. We must make the heroes of the past as our ideal and follow their teachings and try to adopt those teachings and their experiences in our lives. Now another attempt is being made to change the history, distort the facts and incorporate un-authenticated stories scripted by them in the books of history. This is more dangerous than not teaching history. Because non teaching will not misrepresent any fact and the only harm is the ignorance our generation will have about their past. But those who think that by distorting or scripting fictitious stories and then incorporating them in the books of history will do any good of the society, region, community or of the country is completely a misconception, Moreover if they feel that with this way they shall be successful in claiming the superior position in the society is also a misconception. The people who have read factual history will remain in existence for about the next fifty or more years in the society, in the country. Above all the factual history books are in the racks of all prominent libraries of almost all the countries of the world. What will these people do with those books? The scripted and fiction stories shall have no proof in the shape of monuments or map or document on the ground to substantiate their lie.
