Thrills on Wheels: Young Skaters Shine at Kathua District Skating Championship

Kathua, Oct 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Roller Skating Association, in collaboration with Delhi Public School Rajbagh Kathua, organized the Kathua District Skating Championship, a grand celebration of speed, balance, and determination. The event saw energetic participation from young skaters across various age groups, who displayed outstanding skill and sportsmanship on wheels.
The championship aimed to promote roller skating as a growing sport in the region while encouraging a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie among budding athletes.
Mr. Vivek Arora, Principal of DPS Kathua, felicitated the winners and appreciated their hard work and discipline. Sh. G.S. Khurmi, President of the J&K Roller Skating Association, along with General Secretary Mr. Kamal Anand, congratulated all participants for their commendable performances and enthusiasm.
Results:
In the 6–8 years category, Saksham and Kamakshi clinched gold in boys’ and girls’ events respectively, while Dakshit, Divit, and Seerat took silver medals.
In the 8–10 years group, winners included Divashish, Jasmine, Atharv, Avyan, Drishya, Kartavya, and Krishita, who secured gold medals across various sub-categories like Loose Ball Bearing, Quad Professional, Jonex Quad, and Inline. Silver and bronze medals went to Divyam, Shrishti, Reyansh, Kanav, Rishita, Raza, Jasleen, and others.
In the 10–12 years events, Navneet, Davik, and Suhani emerged as top performers, while Mehram, Navreeti, and Sehajpreet earned silver and bronze positions.
Among the 12–15 years competitors, Dhairya, Antriksh, and Aditi took home golds in their respective categories, with Vansh, Atharv, and Kavya following closely behind.
In the 15–18 years category, the gold medalists were Sarang, Saksham, Thakur Gurdev, and Samarth, while Maish, Vivek, Aditya, and Tarun secured silver.
The senior category witnessed thrilling performances, with Sushant, Parik, and Ridham winning gold, followed by Jaipal Singh and Rigveed in silver positions, while Ahemdeep and Chirag took bronze.
The event concluded with loud cheers and applause as the young champions celebrated their victories, leaving behind an inspiring message of perseverance, teamwork, and passion for skating.
