Jammu, Oct 10: In a major breakthrough in the ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, the Miran Sahib Police Station in Jammu has arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered a substantial quantity of heroin-like substance, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the community from the scourge of narcotics.
Acting on precise intelligence, a dedicated police team led by Inspector Azad Manhas, Station House Officer (SHO), Miran Sahib, apprehended Nirmal Jeet Singh, son of Amreeq Singh, a resident of Ward No. 4, Simbal Camp. During the arrest, police recovered 21.77 grams of a heroin-like substance, including polythene packaging, from the possession of the accused.
This significant seizure comes as part of the ongoing anti-narcotics drive being intensively carried out across the region. A case has been registered under FIR No. 131/2025 in accordance with Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is currently underway to uncover the entire nexus of suppliers and distributors involved in this illegal trade.
The successful operation was conducted under the close supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu, Irshad Hussain Rather (JKPS). Both officers have been instrumental in formulating and implementing robust anti-drug strategies across the district. SHO Azad Manhas, known for his relentless pursuit of criminal elements, once again demonstrated exceptional leadership and swift action on ground, earning commendation from both colleagues and the community.
