Rajouri, January 27: District Administration on Republic Day honoured Chief Medical Officer Rajouri, Dr M.L Rana for his exceptional leadership and tireless efforts in managing the recent health emergency in Badhal area in Kandi Health Block.
The felicitation ceremony, held in the presence of MLA Rajouri Iftikhar Ahmed, MLA Thanamandi-Darhal Adv. Muzaffar Khan; DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, Tejinder Singh IPS; Deputy Commissioner, Abhishekh Sharma; SSP, Gourav Shikarwar IPS; Additional DDC Dr Raj Kumar Thapa; Additional DC Rajouri Rajeev Khajuria, and other dignitaries.
From day one of the Badhal crises (December 7)-where 17 people died due to unidentified illness, several treated and about 350, including men, women & children shifted to quarantine centers at Rajouri- CMO Rajouri and his team of doctors, paramedics, ASHAs etc working 24X7 for the welfare n Contd on page 2
of the people who suffered.
Under CMOs leadership, the Health Department Rajouri swiftly deployed Rapid Response Teams (RRTs), strengthened CHC Kandi, ensured referrals to GMC Rajouri and Jammu, and conducted extensive surveillance and public awareness campaigns to prevent further escalation.
District Administration lauded Dr. Rana and the entire Health Department for their tireless work in mitigating the crisis, demonstrating exemplary coordination with the civil administration and allied departments.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma has ensured that the education of the children of Badhal brought to quarantine centers at Nursing College and Government Boys Model Higher Secondary School (GBMHSS) Rajouri shouldn’t be suffered.
He has directed the Chief Education Officer to depute teachers for these children.
On Sunday (January 26) he celebrated Republic Day with these children and distributed study material to them.
On Sunday Budhal MLA, Javed Iqbal Choudhary along with Principal GMC, AS Bhatia took lunch with about 50 members of the families and close relatives of Badhal victims who are under observation in Associated Hospital GMC (AH GMC) Rajouri.
Badhal is a part of Budhal Assembly Constituency and Javed Iqbal has been providing every type of help to the affected families and people of Badhal area.
