Jammu, Jan 10: Under the dynamic leadership of Vice Chairman Mr Pankaj Sharma, the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) is reaching new heights in every aspect of urban development. Not only is JDA making significant progress in beautifying the city, but it has also become increasingly people-friendly, ensuring that the concerns and needs of the residents are addressed effectively. The visionary approach of Mr Sharma has infused new energy into the authority, making it a key player in shaping the future of Jammu.
Discussing the ongoing beautification efforts, Vice Chairman Mr Pankaj Sharma outlined the JDA’s core objective: to create a beautiful, purposeful, and clean Jammu—one that attracts not only visitors but also provides a high quality of life for its residents. He highlighted that while there are several challenges in realizing this vision, the JDA is committed to overcoming them while adhering to the laws and guidelines laid out by the organization. The focus, he emphasized, is on transforming Jammu into a city that residents take pride in—a city where everyone desires to live.
“Beauty and cleanliness are not just about aesthetics. They are about creating a city that functions well and supports the aspirations of its people. Our goal is to make Jammu not only visually appealing but also a safe, well-equipped, and thriving city that offers all modern amenities,” said Mr Sharma. He assured that the government has a comprehensive and sustainable plan to develop Jammu into a model city, with safety and quality of life at its core.
An equally important aspect of JDA’s ongoing efforts is the issue of encroachments, which have long been a concern in Jammu. The Vice Chairman expressed the authority’s firm commitment to removing both small and large encroachments from JDA land. He emphasized that this is
not just a task but a fundamental duty of the JDA to ensure that public land is used for its intended purposes, thereby facilitating proper urban growth.
“Removing encroachments is essential for the overall development of the city. We are tackling this issue systematically. While we are committed to removing all encroachments as soon as possible, we are prioritizing those that are crucial for the near future. Our approach is organized, and each case is being handled according to its importance for the city’s development,” Mr. Sharma explained.
Under the Jammu Master Plan 2032, JDA envisions a well-structured, modern Jammu that caters to the needs of its growing population. The master plan lays the foundation for extensive development in various sectors, including housing, infrastructure, sanitation, and green spaces. Mr. Sharma confidently stated that the day is not far when Jammu will undergo a significant transformation, and the JDA’s vision for the city will become a reality.
“The Jammu Master Plan 2032 is an ambitious and forward-thinking blueprint that aims to make Jammu a model of urban development. We are focused on ensuring that every part of the city benefits from this development, making Jammu a safe, sustainable, and beautiful city for all,” he added.
With such forward-looking initiatives, the Jammu Development Authority, under the leadership of Mr Pankaj Sharma, is well on its way to creating a Jammu that stands as a beacon of progress, safety, and modernity. As the JDA continues to implement its plans, the city will undoubtedly emerge as one of the most well-planned and livable cities in the region, meeting the aspirations of its residents and setting new standards of urban development for the future.
