Stamp Vendors suffered

In past, due to unprecedented lockdown in the country and in Jammu & Kashmir too, almost all the sections of the society have suffered a lot in every aspect and the financial aspect of every section has been spoiled but now they are limping towards normalcy. The
government has tried to accommodate almost every segment but there are some segments which are left untouched by the government healing touch policy.
The strength of such segments is very low and they are remained unheard and untouched. The one of those segments is Stamp Vendor who are selling the stamp papers and non-judicial tickets besides plain papers to commuters who come to the office of Tehsildars of
Deputy Commissioners concerned. The strength of the Stamp Vendors is eight thousands in Jammu & Kashmir approximately and they are one of the sources which providing helps to the poor and ignorant persons who approaches the office of tehsildar and others for their official work. They, even, provide logistic support to the poor people by guiding them. The apathy is that they have to sit under the hot sun and scorching heat in summer and in chilly cold during winter. They have to manage themselves about the sitting arrangement and other aspects like keeping their papers in the safe place. The government only issues them a piece of paper called as license after charging Rs 100 as a fee per annum but they are bereft of other facilities. They are the source to get the papers and stamp papers beside non-judicial stamps for the common people. The purpose to give them
license to felicitate people but no one from the government has thought about them and their plights. They are the bread-earner of the family besides even they extend guidance free of cost to all those innocent and poor people, which could be gotten from an advocate after paying heft fee.
During the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown, they have suffered badly and their family budget has shuttered, leaving them in a crunch. If we may calculate that one stamp vendor has to feed five members then it is almost 40000 persons including women and kids, who have suffered in their lives due to financial constraints. The Lt Governor must take the cognizance of their plight and financial constraints and extend some financial help to them as they have extended to Rehari Walas and others. They are the one of the important segments of the society and must be taken care.
