Social media has now occupied an important and very crucial place in our social system. This media has now entered right in our bedrooms and has become a part of our daily life. The morning now does not begin with the crow of the cock but with the flood of irrelevant and unnecessary messages on various platforms of social media. But this social media has also made many people antisocial. This media has affected the relationship among the people and it has also come to know that people are becoming selfish. Everyone is now asking each other are we becoming selfish and hate creators? Perhaps it is true if one goes through the pages of FaceBook and other social media portals. Particularly FB is full of such pictures, statements, posts and events where most of the users post such ideas or view points in one or other form which show selfishness or promote hate and aggression. One will find several users posting their pictures at various places with a caption of ‘see this person’. Not only this, many of the users almost post such pictures in different poses and sometimes video clips filmed specially to be posted on FB with a hope that friends will also support them and will give comments of their choice. The purpose of these posts is nothing but to create an atmosphere of confusion and enmity among various sections of the society. Initially FB was considered a platform to share your ideas and get comments over that idea or point. Most of these ideas were related to art, literature, social systems and also about political systems. Many people though less in number as compared to literature or social system had been sharing their ideas about the National and International issues, economical issues and at times about the relations of one country to another. Poverty, hunger, scientific development, disasters, calamities (natural and manmade) were also discussed and different views were shared with each other without using any harsh, uncivilized or unethical words for others. There had been no enmity even with those who opposed the idea or view point of another user of FB. Slowly and slowly that issue based discussions and sharing of ideas on FB had been overshadowed by the unethical, irrelevant and baseless discussions. Many times such discussions turn to be a personal one and very harsh, uncivilized or unethical language and words are used for the opponents or against those who do not agree with you. Now there are users who not only dislike those not supporting their ideas but snub them and many times very filthy and obnoxious language is used against them. All the sensible members of the society and particularly the younger generation have to be very vigilant while interacting with their social media friends. As with every coming day this media is not now being used for gaining knowledge but spreading hatred and confusion.
