Welcome 2022 and Bye 2021

We are now in the year 2022 and last night bid farewell to the old year 2021.   While giving a ceremonial farewell to 2021 we assured that 2020 will be long remembered for many ups and downs, economical crisis, Farmers agitation, and above all for the new variants of CoronaVirus. First in the beginning of 2021 there was ‘Delta’ and since the last quarter of 2021 it is ‘Omicron’ which is still looming over the world. This variant is being described as the most dangerous among all other variants of ‘Corona’. This new variant like Covid-19 is acting as per the desire and need of the government. Night curfew has been imposed in many states, towns and localities but election rallies, official functions, government celebrations are going on without any restriction. It looks like the virus is on rest all day and starts roaming in the night. This year in India shall also be remembered for the Farmers successful agitation and the withdrawal of all the controversial farmers’ laws by the government through legislation. But interestingly no discussions were held on these laws both times neither making the laws and not withdrawing the laws in the Parliament. The year 2021 will also be remembered for continuing the ‘sincere’ efforts by the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for selling several well established giant units of the public sector like Railways, Airports, Banks, Insurance, Telecommunication and others. Intrusion by China in eastern Ladakh which began in 2020 remained inconclusive and has been put behind the curtain both by the media and the government. Majority of the Media like previous years continued to divert the attention of the public from core issues and make non-issues as the prime issues. Another important aspect of the year 2020 is the erosion of democratic values and also the dismantling of democratic institutions one by one. Similarly in Jammu Kashmir UT the year 2021 will also be remembered for the unfulfilled tall promises and slogans of the union government and the by the UT administration. However, according to member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, Jammu and Srinagar cities now have ‘Metro Rails’ and people are enjoying life in “Smart Cities. This has been the biggest joke for same people but an insult of the whole population of Jammu and Kashmir. 2021 shall also be remembered for militancy as during this year several innocent civilians and Jawans of security forces fell prey to the barbarism of terrorists. In the end this year shall be remembered for the attempt being made to take the country towards civil war through the venomous speeches Hindu saints and no action by the government in this regard. However, one should always be optimistic so, let’s hope that 2022 shall say no to hatred and usher in a new era of truth, love and brotherhood.
